Follow Us - Twitter | Like Us - Facebook | Follow Us - Digg | Newiphone5.net The next iPhone Apple releases will be the iPhone 5, a fact cemented the day Apple released the white iPhone 4. Yet some have waved the proverbial white flag of surrender when it comes the iPhone 5 being in the on-deck circle and have instead concocted and entire imaginary iPhone model in their heads. The iPhone 4S, or 4GS, as they’ve dubbed it, will be released at the Worldwide Developers Conference a mere six weeks after the white iPhone 4 arrival and a mere couple of months ahead of the iPhone 5, they claim. Nevermind that the claims are based on nothing. Focus on the fact that the logic is less than zero. Still don’t see it? Let’s work backwards through the logic of it on our way to making it clear that A) the iPhone 5 release date has been pushed back to late summer at the earliest, B) there is no iPhone 4S, and C) there will be no new iOS hardware released at WWDC. Ready? Let’s go. If the iPhone 5 were coming in June, Apple would never have released a white iPhone 4 at the end of April. The point of the added-on white model was to breathe new life into the iPhone 4, which Apple felt it needed to do once it realized the iPhone 5 wouldn’t be arriving until later. So we’ve established that the iPhone 5 release date is coming later than sooner; a reasonable amount of time will need to pass between the white iPhone 4 release and the iPhone 5 release. The fact that the white iPhone 4 arrived when it did also mean that there will be no interstitial iPhone 4S in the mean time. Again, the logic is simple: if Apple were planning an iPhone 4S for WWDC, it would have saved the white model for the 4S instead of pushing it out there for the 4. In other words, there is no iPhone 4S and won’t be. This leaves only one possibility: the next iPhone to arrive will be the iPhone 5, and it’ll be here no sooner than the sheen starts wearing off the white iPhone 4 release. So where did this “iPhone 4S” concept come from? Good question. The iPhone 5 is purported to look similar to the existing iPhone 4, but with the screen merely stretched to the sides. Some gazers may have mistakenly taken this to be some kind of iPhone 4 revamp. The name “iPhone 4S” is a concoction based on Apple’... Follow Us - Twitter | Like Us - Facebook | Follow Us - Digg | Newiphone5.netAfter some forensic tech work it has apparently been proven that the camera and LED flash of the iPhone 5 will not share the same location. A recent leaked image showing the alleged back plate of the iPhone 5 seems to have been the source of an interesting discovery. The picture itself was taken with an iPhone 5 and, thanks to the current tools at our disposal, this fact seems to have been already proven. The leaked image processed in Photoshop, is apparently able to confirm that the back plate in question is real and actually used on a device that’s taking the picture. The back plate shows us that the camera and the flash do not share the same location, like on current iPhone 4 models, which is something that has been hinted in the past. Now the back plate alone can’t be used to confirm the fact that the iPhone 5 will have the camera placed on the top left corner with the flash being placed on the top right corner, since plenty of people could come up with such a case for their 5-minutes of attention. What’s interesting though is that the device used to take the picture is being reflected in that back plate and, after all the forensic analysis is performed, it turns out to be an iPhone that uses the same kind of back plate it’s actually photographing, one where the camera and the LED flash do not share the same location. Follow Us - Twitter | Like Us - Facebook | Follow Us - Digg | Newiphone5.netJust when everyone started to believe that the fifth generation iPhone announcement wasn't coming until August, new information points to a possible WWDC reveal this June. According to Electricpig in the United Kingdom, British journalists are being invited by Apple to attend the Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC) starting on June 6. Would the iPhone public relations team in the UK be asking select tech publications to attend WWDC in San Francisco if a new product announcement wasn't about to happen? Electricpig's sources say no way. This could mean that new iPhone hardware will be shown off in June after all. According to US invites pictured above, the focus of the event seems to center in on the next version of the iOS mobile operating system. Electricpig is more convinced that the hardware announcement is coming in June along with iOS 5 information. What's not clear is exactly what Apple is releasing next. Evidence points toward an iPhone 4S, similar to the update the iPhone 3G received in the iPhone 3GS. The iPhone 4S is said to have the same footprint as the iPhone 4 with better hardware inside. Photos of prototypes have leaked showing an iPhone 4S with a larger screen as well, stretching from edge to edge in the familiar iPhone 4 form factor. More radical changes are expected to take place on the iPhone 5. A curved metal back, thinner profile and curved glass front screen are just some of the improvements Apple is said to be working on. Conflicting rumors make it unclear whether or not Steve Jobs himself will announce any new hardware or software at WWDC 2011. We take all of these rumors with a grain of salt, however if the British press is indeed receiving invites to the event, it could be that Apple's plans are larger than we previously imagined. Follow Us - Twitter | Like Us - Facebook | Follow Us - Digg | Newiphone5.netGiven the web is full of speculation about the forthcoming Apple iPhone 5, we felt obliged to join in to give the full facts… We even managed to obtain an exclusive spy-shot of the finished phone, where you can just make it out that it fits in the hand, has a display and is mostly black. So, here is the guide to the new iPhone
The next Apple iPhone will be the fifth iPhone, so will most likely be called the iPhone 5. However Apple could decide to call it the iPhone Next-Gen-Super-Speedy-Phone, if only to see if Samsung calls its next smartphone the Samsung Galaxy NGSSP. It will fix the antenna problem but Apple won’t be make a big deal of it, or even mention it, as there never really was a problem, remember? The next iPhone may or may not include support for 4G. However, given most networks don’t support 4G yet (especially in the UK, where we may be waiting until 2013), nobody will really care as long as it works on 2G and 3G and doesn’t drop calls (see above). It may be smaller and lighter, with a smaller screen to make the next iPhone more pocket-friendly, or it may go up in size to include a larger screen. The screen might be 3D, or it might not. Apple could launch two new devices and surprise us all, but this has been predicted before the launch of every iPhone following the original iPhone, so it seems like the idea of an ‘iPhone nano’ or an ‘iPhone pro’ with a keyboard isn’t as big a priority in Cupertino as we all think. The next iPhone could mark Apple’s launch into the world of NFC, but given Apple usually waits until something works before joining the party, they would surely wait until the networks and banks can sort themselves out before launching? Apple doesn’t do anything with a less than satisfactory user experience. Still, if we had a choice, we’d definitely prefer to buy goods and services with a brand-new iPhone than an ancient Samsung Tocco. No doubt Apple would rename NFC into a more user-friendly name like ‘iPay’ or ‘iCash’. It may use yet another sized SIM card, but only people swapping their SIM card from one phone to another will be concerned with this. Everyone else will sticks their SIM, whatever size it might be, in their phone and forget about it. Many won’t even see the SIM as it gets installed before being handed over. Apple will introduce a new version of iOS, which probably won’t be supported by the 3G and 3GS in order to encourage people to upgrade. There will be some features exclusive to the iPhone 5 that won’t be possible on the iPhone 4, for the same reason. It will be expensive. It will be released at some point in the future. It will change everything. Again.

iPhone 4S Coming at WWDC 2011 Ahead of iPhone 5 Release? |

Follow Us - Twitter | Like Us - Facebook | Follow Us - Digg | Newiphone5.netSome UK journalists believe the iPhone 4S will be launched at WWDC 2011 despite the fact that we have plenty of proof to suggest otherwise so far…. We’re getting closer and closer to the WWDC 2011, where Apple is going to tell us more about the future of iOS and Mac OS X, according to its previous press release as well as to the general consensus between most media outlets out there. The next-gen iPhone, iPhone 4S or iPhone 5, should be unveiled at a later event in September, again, according to most rumors that place the launch of the fifth iPhone in fall 2011, but today we hear a different rumor. According to some UK sources it would seem that Apple PR is specifically interested in getting “selected British journalists” to attend to Apple’s WWDC 2011 so they can witness the iPhone 4S launch. The assumption here is that Apple will launch a major product in San Francisco, hence the need of major publications from the UK to cover the event. And what major device other than the iPhone 4S/5 could be launched, at least according to the same source? Well, this is well we call bullshit folks, as the conclusions drawn by Electric Pig are pretty far-fetched, with no actual proof ready to back them up. Yes, Apple is going to launch a major product at WWDC. In fact we’re expecting at least two, if not three of them: iOS 5, Mac OS X Lion, and the new iCloud music streaming service with the first two being obvious favorites. And yes, we do agree that an iPhone 4S announcement taking place at WWDC would cause quite a stir among Apple customers and rivals. But Apple is a well-oiled machine that also happens to control the iDevice rumor mill out there at best it can. And all rumors out there say that no new iPhone is going to be introduced at WWDC 2011, so why would Apple go through so much trouble to convince people the next iPhone is coming in September only to launch it now? We’d be really interested to hear more about those UK journalists that Apple PR is interested in bringing to San Francisco, although last time I checked, Apple does quite okay with building hype around its products before, during and after its media events, even without certain journalists being actually present at these events. The best example here would be the Gizmodo band that’s currently banned from such Apple media events following last year’s iPhone 4 bar scandal. So therefore, why would Apple PR want to make sure certain UK journalists are there at all costs? Master plan: iPhone 5 Has Been A September Release Date Baby All |

Follow Us - Twitter | Like Us - Facebook | Follow Us - Digg | Newiphone5.netCall the iPhone 5 late arrival a delay if you want, but the breadcrumbs have been there all along to point to September being part of Apple’s master plan. From the odd-timed Verizon iPhone 4 to the white followup to the 4G hangover, signs abound that Apple has been planning for some time that the iPhone 5 release date would come more than a year after that of the iPhone 4, even if it does bust up Apple’s tradition of popping out a new iPhone every twelve months. Here are the signs as to why the iPhone 5 was never coming this summer. - When Apple allowed Verizon to push out a Verizon iPhone 4 in February, many assumed it would fall by the wayside in favor of the iPhone 5 within a few months. Apple’s exclusivity deal with AT&T prevented Verizon from being in on the original iPhone 4 launch, which was likely the genesis of the iPhone 5 late release. Apple figured it would push out a Verizon iPhone 4 in late winter, a white iPhone 4 in late spring, and an iPhone 5 after summer. In hindsight, the vPhone 4 was a sign that Apple wasn’t in any hurry to kill off the iPhone 4. - On that note, there’s good reason. Now that the smoke has cleared from the various iPhone 4 pseudo-controversies, the numbers show it to be a runaway success, outselling the previous generation by about a two to one – and widening – margin. No wonder Apple isn’t in a hurry to get to the iPhone 5. - As a cherry on top, the later Apple waits to push the iPhone 5 out the door, the more of an impact 4G will have. Right now, Verizon and AT&T barely have 4G presence to speak of. But by the fall it’ll be a different story. - Finally, Apple has figured out what should have been obvious all along: while the public heavily favors the iPhone over Android (ask any non-geek), they’re not generally willing to change carriers to make it happen. The arrival of the Verizon iPhone, and the presumed arrival of a T-Mobile iPhone and a Sprint iPhone, are ultimately more important to marketshare than the iPhone 5. That means Apple can afford to take its time in developing the next iPhone while allowing the carriers to fight the marketshare battle on its behalf in the mean time. Here’s more on the iPhone 5. Eldar Murtazin, editor-in-chief of Russian mobile phone blog Mobile-Review today reported in a Tweet (via MacStories) that iOS 5 will not be compatible with the iPhone 3GS, limiting the next-generation operating system to the current iPhone and of course new models yet to come as far as the iPhone is concerned. Just one comment. Apple iPhone 3Gs wont be upgradable to iOS 5.x. iPhone 4 will. The information is unverified and it is unclear from where Murtazin obtained the information, but he does have a very solid reputation in the mobile phone rumor community. Murtazin does not, however, frequently report on Apple’s plans. iOS 4.0 was released last June with compatibility for the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4, although some of the iOS 4 features were not available on the older hardware. That fragmentation continued until Apple finally discontinued support for iPhone 3G updates with the release of iOS 4.3 earlier this year, leaving that device at a maximum operating system version of iOS 4.2.1. Limiting iOS 5 to a minimum of iPhone 4 hardware would be a significant shift toward high-end hardware requirements, particularly considering that Apple still sells the iPhone 3GS. iOS 5 has, however, been reported to be a significant reworking of the company’s mobile operating system, and Apple may simply feel that only the latest hardware (relatively speaking) will offer a satisfactory experience. Follow Us - Twitter | Like Us - Facebook | Follow Us - Digg | Newiphone5.netThe iPhone 5 is no different than the previous four in that detractors will have no difficulty in coming up with reasons not to buy one, ranging from irrelevant to imaginary. “Don’t buy the first iPhone,” say said, “because it’s not 3G.” Nevermind that AT&T’s 3G network barely existed in 2007. “Don’t buy the iPhone,” they said in 2007, “because there are no third party apps.” Then they turned around in 2008, after third party apps had been launched in a big way, and said “Don’t buy the iPhone 3G because third party apps aren’t ‘open’ enough.” Nevermind that what they really meant was that the iPhone wasn’t enough of a geek-leaning tinker toy. Then came the iPhone 3GS. “Don’t buy it either,” they warned, “because it’s just like the previous one.” Nevermind that the hardware specs of the 3GS outshines that of the 3G in every category. So heading into the iPhone 5, what will the geeks and other detractors come up with this time by way of trying to talk you out of the iPhone you want and into the Android-based geekphone they’re desperate for you to buy instead? A look back at all the reasons they told you not to buy the iPhone 4 is a good start. First it was the supposed iPhone 4 antenna issue, which turned out to have been completely fabricated on the part of geeks and never existed – but not before a good chunk of the population had been irrevocably convinced otherwise. Apple even had to hand out free iPhone 4 cases just to get the geekholes who created the controversy to shut up, knowing that they’d “won” and gotten a free case as a trophy. Then it was the fact that the iPhone 4 wasn’t a 4G phone; nevermind that 4G AT&T’s 4G network literally didn’t exist back then and still basically doesn’t to this day. Then they made up the imaginary “scratching” controversy, which unlike with the imaginary antenna controversy, relatively few fell for. And then later Apple released the Verizon iPhone 4, which the geeks attempted to create another phone antenna controversy around before finally settling on the mantra that it wasn’t 4G (still largely irrelevant) and, humorously enough, that it wasn’t the iPhone 5. So now that the iPhone 5 is only a season away from arriving, here’s what the geeks will point to this time as to why you shouldn’t buy one. The validity of their reasoning doesn’t matter; keep in mind that geeks get out of bed in the morning in the hopes of being able to convince the non-geek majority to buy geek-leaning products, and Apple’s products are the least geeky on the planet. So here’s a sampling of the anti-iPhone 5 nonsense t... [ Read More (0.3k in body) ] iPhone 5 Myths |

Follow Us - Twitter | Like Us - Facebook | Follow Us - Digg | Newiphone5.netOne of the longest rumors of all time are those of iTunes Cloud. Amazon and Google have put their names in the hat, but Apple seems to take their sweet time. It looks like they’re thisclose and may even release it before iPhone 5! “Apple has reached licensing accords with Sony Corp.’s music division, EMI Group and Warner Music Group, the people said. Universal Music Group, the largest recording company, is close to a deal, another person said. The company also would need to reach agreements with music publishers, which control different rights than the labels.” I’m not sure as to whether Amazon and Google have or will have agreements with record companies like what Apple is trying to accomplish. It seems like Amazon/Google is aiming more of a Grooveshark system and Apple is doing a Spotify. The difference being Apple’s cloud will have licensed sharing and streams of music while both Amazon and Google are “anything uploaded by the users.” Follow Us - Twitter | Like Us - Facebook | Follow Us - Digg | Newiphone5.net iTunes Cloud Release Date May Happen Before iPhone 5 |
