I don't know if I'd count myself as one of the militant "ProtestWarriors," but I do like the picture on the site that has one of the "Anti-War" signs saying "War Has Never Solved Anything," but then adds the scribble, "Except for ending Slavery, Fascism, Nazism, and Communism"!

Interesting speculation. I don't agree with all of his assumptions, especially involving the intent or relative support of some other countries such as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, but he does present some interesting thoughts about ways in which the geopolitical landscape will be changing over the next year, along with some of the forces - both predictable and unpredictable -- which may cause those changes.

Hmm. In some ways, this makes it look like one of the reasons that France was protecting Iraq, was that they were being blackmailed with the threat of a ricin attack. Not that there's any clear tie between Ricin and an Iraqi operative, but still . . .

I read a statistic the other day about how out of Iraq's population of 20 million people, only 12,000 have internet access.

Though this article doesn't mention their names, two of those leaders would almost certainly be Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (Al Qaeda Operations Director) and Yassir al-Jazeeri, the US-educated "computer whiz" Al Qaeda Communications Director, along with several other key Al Qaeda personnel. Not to mention the multiple laptop computers and other files that we got with them.

I've been scouring the news for information on whether we've cracked the encryption on al-Jazeeri's two laptops, but haven't been able to find anything yet. Since he was reputedly one of the key links in routing communications from bin Laden though, then I'd say that the news that we've sent several hundred troops to a very specific location in Afghanistan is a very promising sign.

It's hard to get Al Qaeda / Afghanistan news at the moment under all the Iraq chatter, but this is a big story. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I ran across a few of its pages while searching for information on Iraq's history, and found not only that, but also what's effectively "current events" information, current as of a few hours ago.

One of the things that I *really* like about Wiki -- if you see an error or omission on a page, you can go in and change it yourself! Just click on the "Edit this page" link at the bottom of any article. Or click on "Recent Changes" to see when other changes were made, who made them (by name or IP), or what previous versions of articles said.

The pages are a bit slow to load at times, but the quantity of information makes it worth it.
