Salon.com News | 'Homosexuals are hellbound!' by k at 5:52 pm EDT, Oct 18, 2004 |
" During a question-and-answer period, someone says they'd once heard Johnston call for the execution of gays and lesbians. He vigorously denies the charge. Later, he tells me that the decision to put gays to death is a matter best left up to the states. "If we ever had a nation sufficiently Christian" to make homosexuality illegal, he says, imposing capital punishment for homosexuality would be a subject for "an in-house debate. There were capital crimes in the Bible, and that would be something debated." " [ This shit gives me chills. What is it with people and unbridled hatred. And please, PLEASE, someone justify hate with something Jesus said. I fucking dare you. These people are as unchristian as they come, and if there's a hell, I think they've got their own little corner. -k] |

It also commands that all men in Iraq be murdered, and all women and children be enslaved. Save those that US Soldiers want to marry, who may then exist in a state of matrimonial slavery unless their husbands reject them, at which point they may wander freely. God damn the bible is fucked. |

That was in the Old Testament, which is considered to be the law within Judaism. However, Christianity requires that one believe what Christ said. One important thing he said, was, "I am the END of the old law and the beginning of the new." That doesn't mean selectively applying Old Testament law to people, but completely discarding it and starting from scratch. That's why Christians can eat bacon. Dolemite |

It will be significantly more fun for the christians to be in hell watching the gays burn than to be in heaven, bored. Homosexuals, according to their religion, are wrong. Please get over it. You are as prejudiced against their view as they are against yours. I wonder when you will realize you suffer from the same diseases you attempt to cure. You must be gay, eh? |

Fortunately I don't believe in hell, and so I don't think anyone will end up there. It's mostly the intellectual dishonesty of fundamentalists that i have a problem with. See, one does not choose their race, but they do choose their sexual preference. Anyway gays want more than tolerance, they want blanket acceptance. That is wrong. Not everyone will accept them and that is an individuals perogative. Its what makes america great. That some folks can be gay and others can despise them. |

[ Certainly, i have no right to say that another person can't think that homosexuality is wrong, any more than I can enjoin someone from disliking blacks or asians. What I feel I can do is hold people to having a rational explanation for their opinions. And "It's immoral." isn't an explanation, it's an evasion... one that lots of people happily spout off. I haven't yet heard a convincing argument against homosexuality that doesn't amount, essentially, to "Ewwwww!" and I don't really expect to. Maybe it'll happen. Until then, it's just hate, bred of ignorance and intellectual rigidity, and that's something I have no compunction opposing. -k] |

Nothing you said there has any validity beyond your own self-made philosophy. There are no facts you can use to back this argument. You obviously didnt even try. Just shut up sometimes. No one wants you monopolizing the main page with hysteria culled from the fringe. At least I was only responding. |

I know this wasn't directed at me but I'm going to respond anyway. Thats ridiculous. I'm not trying to pass a law preventing them from believing in their religious views. No one is trying to force their churches to perform homosexual marriages. By crafting a law which imposes what is fundamentally a religious belief about marriage upon the people they are attacking the freedom of religion. It will literally be illegal for people to hold different religious views about marriage then they do. I make no argument about their beliefs right or wrong. I argue only that I ought to have the freedom to come to my own conclusions, and that cannot occur when their beliefs are legislated. |

First, they wanted tolerance. Now they want the same benefits as normal people. Where do we draw the line? When we accept perversion as the norm, then we fuck with biology itself. Next, they will begin suing churches to force them to marry them. Watch for it! They don;t want equality. And then I should be able to come to my own conclusions regarding whether I want to use heroin or not, whether I want to take a life or not, or whether I want to go around sticking people with AIDS needles, which is what homosexuals basically did to us in the 80's. Now they want to drain our economy and force their fucked up perversion onto an american public that largely thinks that they are nuts and sick. Take Matthew Shepherd for instance. That kid was totally asking for what happened to him. He paid the price for annoying the shit out of americans. IF gays want totally equality then they should give up their special benefits. I cannot believe that it is considered a "hate Crime" to kick the shit out of one of these AIDS-breeders. That is ridiculous. One is born into their race, therefore they should not have to answer to society for it, but one is not born into being gay. It's a choice that should be scrutinized by the public as much as pedophilia, necrophilia, bestiality and terrorism. It's gonna begin with queers and end up with NAMBLA trying to force us to tolerate Child rape. |
