This would be an intrusion into the personal decisions of private individuals and would be an overstep of the government. The same argument applies to gays in the Boy Scouts. Private organizations can do whatever the hell they want provided they don't hurt anyone else. That includes setting standards for membership.

And the majority of Americans believe that gays should have some basic rights like being able to see each other in the hospital and arrange funerals. Marriage is a religious concept and should be left up to religious institutions. NOT THE GOVERNMENT.

Kicking the shit out of anyone in ANY situation besides defense is unnacceptable and will be always be illegal. The question of what is a "hate crime" is a good one, and it merits discussion (though I doubt you have anything intelligent to say about it). Murder is murder, the motivation shouldn't change the punishment.

I used to think this too, and fact is that we heterosexuals will never know for sure, but consider this: Even if you tried reeeeal hard, do you think you could somehow find a fat hairy man sexually attractive?
