Girl Scout Thin Mints clone recipe
Topic: Cooking 11:53 am EST, Nov 21, 2007

I miss buying them some years, so was really glad to find and try this recipe... These turned out amazing and accurate. A variation we tried was larger cookies, which turned out chewy instead of crisp... which was also awesome.

Bob Evan's Sausage Gravy Recipe - RecipeInsider.com

This turned out really well... almost an exact match and delicious. We used a spicy sausage instead of regular for a minor tweak and it was still very good.

Is Your Son a Computer Hacker?
Topic: Miscellaneous 12:17 am EDT, Apr 25, 2003

] To this end, I have decided to publish the top ten signs
] that your son is a hacker. I advise any parents to read
] this list carefully and if their son matches the profile,
] they should take action. A smart parent will first try to
] reason with their son, before resorting to groundings, or
] even spanking. I pride myself that I have never had to
] spank a child, and I hope this guide will help other
] parents to put a halt to their son's misbehaviour before
] a spanking becomes necessary.

I love good satire! This was my best laugh in weeks.

Nerdcore Rap Spotlight: MC Chris
Topic: Rap & Hip Hop 7:46 pm EST, Mar 26, 2003

Chris Ward is one of the voice actors for some of the shows on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. He is also MC Chris, a nerdcore rapper.

Check some lyrics from his song, "Fett's Vette." (available for download at his site):

Say my name is boba fett I know my shit is tight
Start not acting in right, you're frozen in carbonite
Got telescopic sight, flame throwers on my wrist
You still don't get the jist, spiked boots are made to kick
Targets are made to hit, you think I give a shit
Yer mama is a bitch, I see you in the sarlaac pit

Yeeehaw! Now if only we could get one of those secular governments of our own....

Seriously, I wonder what would be the official response to this from some of the congress people who stomped and shouted at the "under god" verdict from the 9th District court a while back.

Example of their nerd-core lyrics:
Well my name is Gimli
I’m a fucking dwarf !
I been slaying mutherfuckers
from the south to the north
That ain’t Mirkwood I’m choppin with my battleaxe
I’m on an orc stampede like Shadowfax

Their video is the funniest thing I've seen in months!

Meetup.com, a venue-sponsored site, helps people organize meetings for various interests. An Agnostic one was recently started; sign up if you're interested! Also, if you have a site with an Agnostic readership, it would be cool to link to it.

Mainstream Agile / Software Radio article
Topic: Technology 1:39 pm EST, Nov 25, 2002

This article, from the Associated Press, gives a good intro to Agile Radio, both in terms of what it is, and what political climate it faces, which is surprisingly promising. Overall, it is cast in a good light, with no reference to evil hackers, etc... author must have a clue. :-)

Nice new general-purpose portal site
Topic: Technology 9:51 pm EST, Nov 12, 2002

If you're tired of the pop-ups, blinking ad banners, interstitials, etc... but you still want the features of a general purpose portal site (custom news, weather, movie & tv listings, sports, stocks, etc...), this is the answer.

I used to use Excite, which is by the same people. This is the same portal engine, but without ads. They earn revenue through identified sponsored links on their Google-based search results.
