J. G. Ballard's graphic, violent novel is controversial wherever it is read, even on Amazon.com's own Web page! The book's characters are obsessed with automobile accidents and are determined to narrate the horrors of the car crash as luridly as possible. In the words of the novel's protagonist, the wounds caused by automobile collisions are "the keys to a new sexuality born from a perverse technology."
That sounds exactly like something I would be into.
The South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival is one of the biggest and most popular in the United States. For the fourth year in a row, SXSW has released a DRM-less collection of songs that can now be downloaded for free via BitTorrent.
Last night I watched this very interesting documentary on William Gibson. (Available via Netflix for those of your w/ subscriptions)
The 90 minute film is an interview with Gibson while he is riding cross country in the back of a limo. Gibson provides profound commentary on the state of mankind and technology. It is also a bit an autobiography and Gibson gives insight into his influences and thought process.
Even if your not familiar with Gibson's work. He is an interesting and poetic person to listen to. Also, I didn't expect a road trip to be visually stimulating when the primary view is from inside the car, but the director made that happen.

Leck mich im Arsch (English: Lick My Ass) is a canon in B-flat major composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, K. 231 (K382c), with lyrics in German. It was one of a set of at least six canons probably written in Vienna in 1782. Sung by six voices as a three-part round, it is thought to be a party piece for his friends.
The song's title and lyrics are a reference to anal-oral contact, and may be more idiomatically translated as "kiss my ass" or "get stuffed". They have been used as evidence to support the contention that Mozart had Tourette syndrome.
