] Atlanta underreported crimes for years to help land the ] 1996 Olympics and pump up tourism, according to an audit ] commissioned by police and released Friday. ] ] Police in this relentlessly self-promoting city of the ] New South routinely altered or suppressed thousands of ] crime reports in a concerted effort "to improve Atlanta's ] chances for selection," the audit said, citing interviews ] with several officers. Its even worse then you think! CNN.com - Report: Atlanta more dangerous than statistics indicate - Feb. 20, 2004 |

] Once upon a time, there was a SPC Schwarz stationed with ] the Army in the Balkans. SPC Schwarz was either very ] clever or very bored; but probably both, since he managed ] to attempt or be warned about 213 things he wasn't ] allowed to do. He collected those things into a ] hillarious list and posted them to the web. The site ] hadn't been updated in a couple of years and has since ] gone away; but the list is classic, so I saved it. My Personal Favorites: -I am not authorized to sell mineral rights. -Not allowed to add 'In accordance with the prophesy' to the end of answers I give to a question an officer asks me. -Despite the confusing similarity in the names, the "Safety Dance" and the "Safety Briefing" are never to be combined. 213 things you can't do in the Army |

] Last Thursday, a headline skittered across the Associated ] Press newswire, boasting to the world: "Man's apartment ] encased in aluminum foil." The dateline was Olympia, ] Washington and the story concerned a man who spent New ] Year's Eve covering his best friend's apartment entirely ] in tin foil. http://www.meetluke.com/NxAlbumImageThumbnailView.asp?number=91 Okay if you haven't heard this story yet it is hilarious. A guy has his friend housesit and comes back to everything covered in foil. His change, books, contents of the fridge, everything covered. The only thing I can't find in any of the three links for this story is the note that his friends left for him. As the story went on the radio they left him a note on his car, also foil covered, that read "Drats foiled again". HOW TO WRAP YOUR FRIEND'S APARTMENT IN TIN FOIL: A LOVE STORY. |

] Radio shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge Clem, who was once ] tried for animal cruelty for broadcasting the castration of ] a pig, returned to controversy Tuesday when his program ] triggered the highest fine ever for indecent broadcasts. ] ] The Federal Communications Commission proposed a $755,000 ] fine against Clear Channel Communications for the broadcast ] of "Bubba the Love Sponge" on four Florida stations in 2001. I actually listen to this show in the morning and this is going to be a very hot topic in the coming weeks. This fine was dropped in their lap yesterday afternoon two years after the supposed offensive events occured, on the eve of a panel on decency. The issue that is being pressed by the host of this show is the fact that the fcc guidelines on what is an isn't offensive isn't clear cut. They are standing by innocent and going to try to force the fcc to give them a more clear cut set of rules in which to abide by. Bubba's brazen shows draw hefty FCC fine |
