Joss Whedon lets ''Firefly'' go
Topic: Movies 5:18 pm EST, Dec 20, 2005

Whedon's fond memories are also tainted by Serenity's status as a franchise nonstarter; despite Universal's best marketing efforts, the film only mustered $25 million. ''In the end, it was what it was: a tough sell,'' says Whedon, adding that it appears the Firefly saga has reached its conclusion. He has no regrets — and he's moving on.

- ZOMBIE BLAMES RONALD McDONALD FOR CLOWN DISLIKE
Topic: Movies 12:29 pm EDT, Jul 16, 2005

"I didn't remember this, but my dad was obsessed with the Super 8 camera and I just saw these films recently. He's filming and it's my mom trying to hand me to Ronald McDonald. But it's kind of a weird-looking, bad Ronald McDonald - it might even have been a woman.

"I'm screaming in terror and they just keep pushing me towards this clown and I'm like fighting him off."

With The Devil's Rejects starting next weekend I found this kinda funny but it explains Captain Spaulding from House of 1000 Corpses.

Lord of the Rings Marathon for Release of 'Return of the King'
Topic: Movies 9:35 pm EDT, Aug 23, 2003

Looks like there'll be new extended versions of I and II coming out just before III:

] Running times for the extended editions are 208 minutes
] for "Fellowship of the Ring" and 214 minutes for "The Two
] Towers."

] Starting the week of Dec. 5, the extended DVD cut of
] "Fellowship of the Ring" will be released in some 100 or
] so theaters in the U.S. and in 20 theaters in Canada.
]
] Then, the week of Dec. 12, sequel "Two Towers" will
] unspool, just a month after having preemed on DVD,
] leading up to a worldwide Dec. 16 daylong marathon,
] during which all three films will be shown back-to-back.
] Exhib guidelines call for a 3 p.m. showing of
] "Fellowship" followed by a 7 p.m. screening of "Two
] Towers" and then an 11 p.m. screening of "Return of the
] King," which will carry over into Dec. 17 -- the day of
] its global release.

Three and a half hours of I, followed by three and a half hours of II, followed by "Return of the King". Popcorn-overdose, dude, I'm there! :)

] This movie comes from Working Title Films, the British
] producers who gave us "Four Weddings and a Funeral",
] "Bridget Jones' Diary" and "About a Boy". I didn't know
] this till I read the press hand-out after watching the
] film.
]
] And then, I wasn't surprised why the movie is rippingly
] jolly.

For all you Mr Bean fans, Rowin Atkinson is at it again in this new movie. I am looking forward to seeing it.

The Matrix's Nmap Hacking Scene
Topic: Movies 9:24 pm EDT, May 16, 2003

] The average American moviegoer taking in the Matrix
] Reloaded this weekend will likely be wowed by the
] elaborate action sequences and dazzling special effects.
] But hackers who've seen the blockbuster are crediting it
] with a more subtle cinematic milestone: it's the first
] major motion picture to accurately portray a hack.

More detailed info about the (very cool) hacking scene in the Matrix Reloaded. I love it when a movie pays attention to the details.
