"E-Z-Go, a Textron (TXT: news, chart, profile) subsidiary that manufactures golf cars, says its business is up 15 percent this year, driven by demand for specialized vehicles for residential developments, camping, hunting, working the farm or "just cruising the countryside." "We have seen continued demand for individual golf cars and more options on these cars for use in golf and retirement communities," said Kim Hegel, marketing manager for E-Z-Go. Among the new options: A four-cup drink holder, center-storage basket, an oil gauge and fuel gauges or state of charge meter, headlights, tail lights and a horn. The custom top-of-the-line carts come with multiple paint options, a wood-grain dash, aluminum mag wheel tires, turn signals, a windshield and canopy." I wonder if you can get some chromed out dubs?? :) California here we come, specialty golf carts, more |

Industry executives say modern diesel engines are much cleaner and quieter than those of the 1970s and can boost fuel economy and reduce emissions in a relatively easy way, the New York Times reported. VOLVO HAS BEEN shuttling its Safety Concept Car around the country for the better part of a year, and this week it was Seattles turn. Its curvy, flashy, very red and very electronic. Sit in the drivers seat, and an eye sensor adjusts the seat, floor, steering wheel, console and floor pedals for optimal comfort and accessibility. Stray over the center line on the highway, and a beeper warns you. the car has five separate computer systems (running Windows 98, by the way), and a trunk so full of electronics you can forget about the golf clubs.
I soooo don't think so. :) Its billed as a $10 million James Bond-mobile. The Volvo Safety Concept Car |
