ommunity Enhancement Grants Controversy: This year, state legislators set aside $20 million dollars for a program that supporters called “Community Enhancement Grants”, but critics termed “pork barrel spending”. So far, only $2 million has been awarded, but some legislators are reportedly upset because they’re afraid some of their pet projects won’t get funded.
