Wow. That is insane. I honestly don't care if CGI was used or not it doesn't diminish the wow factor of these vids. I'll take some more of these. RE: YouTube - NFL Fantasy Files: The Best Players |

Seeking your Opinon, Are 1/3 of security practices worthless? |

Interesting article describing a talk given by "Peter Tippett-- who is vice president of risk intelligence for Verizon Business, chief scientist at ICSA Labs, and the inventor of the program that became Norton AntiVirus -- said that about one third of today's security practices are based on outmoded or outdated concepts that don't apply to today's computing environments." Tippet uses several analogies concerning outdate vuln research and disclosure and the discarding of hackable technologies. On the surface this sounds good but I'm curious to hear the opinion of some of the security professionals in Memestreams. Is he entirely off base? Does he make some valid points? Are his analogies far fetched? I'd love to hear what you think. Seeking your Opinon, Are 1/3 of security practices worthless? |

Decius wrote: A telling moment comes at the end of the segment, when Kerouac turns to Sanders and declares, “Say, Ed, I was arrested two weeks ago. And the arresting policeman said, ‘I’m arresting you for decay.’” There’s a flash of cognitive dissonance: Did he really just say that? The crowd laughs, but it’s an edgy laughter, tempered by the shock of Kerouac’s self-awareness, by the sense that they’ve just caught a glimpse behind the curtain.
I'd nominate Kerouac as the patron saint of MemeStreams.
I'd second the nomination. As cliche as this sounds, reading "On the Road" was a life changing moment in my life. It inspired me to discover an entire legion of beat poets and folk music. Let me add my recommendation for reading Dharma Bums to anyone who enjoyed OTR. Thanks Longlive the beautiful frenzy. RE: 50 years after On the Road |

This is actually for a home to support 4 clients. I've used Linksys for years and love them but I'm just curious as to what else is worth looking at. I normally run WPA2 PSK AES or WPA2 Radius. I'm mostly concerned with stability, coverage, and longevity. I also love the multiple SSID's with HP/Cisco's but I can't justify the cash to put one in my home. I've also played with 3rd party firmware's with linksys products but decided to play it safe. I appreciate the continued input. RE: AP Recommendations? |

Simply put I want your recommendations for Access Points. I need to replace my AP and I'm wanting to explore some different options. I figured Memestreams would be a good place to get informed advice. I've got plenty of experience with the enterprise class HP's and Cisco APs as well as the SOHO market usual suspects...Linksys, Dlink, and Netgears but I want your recommendations. Their are a ton of vendors from Buffalo to Aruba and I'd like to know what you think. Thanks in advance. |

This is one of the funniest posts I've ever read. The blogger at fthe.net was given the task of hiring a security guy. The job was posted on some online sites and the resume deluge began. After seeing the results he decided to write an open letter to the applicants. In his words "turns out I hate everyone". My favorite excerpts: Once again the title is “Sr Security Engineer”, that means don’t email me from your AOL account. I understand you may not want to email your resume from your current employer, that’s fine, but if you don’t have at least one external email address you can get securely to, you’re not a “security guy” in the first place, go away. You sent your resume today at 8:38AM, 11:13AM and 5:15PM, I deleted all 3 at 9:22PM. It’s 2006, don’t put “proficient with a hammer” on your resume...DOS 5.x 6.x. I was laughing so hard at this post that my wife woke up and wondered what was going on. I hope you enjoy. Re: Your Resume |
