] Eleven years before that, two cosmonauts overshot their ] touchdown site by 2,000 miles and found themselves deep ] in a forest with hungry wolves. That's when Russian space ] officials decided to pack a sawed-off shotgun aboard ] every spacecraft. So we've all heard about the 300 mile mistake now. But I couldn't pass up this "low-tech" bit. It should be titled "When technology just isn't good enough, there's always a shotgun". Returned space crew lucky, others faced wolves |

I'm thinking there is a very fine line between a distributed denial of service and an online protest. This should make future "mass electronic events" a little more interesting. Virtual Protest Clogs Washington Lines |

Let's see: (geek - physicalExercise) + EverestCyberCafe = X a statistic about geeks not getting enough exercise plus a cyber cafe at Everest equals failure? Atleast the technology to pull this off sounds cool. And who knows, maybe one day someone will stand atop the mountain with their GPS and fire up MemeStreams to see what others had to say about the peak. Yahoo!
