Topic: Society 3:19 pm EDT, Apr 27, 2004

] University officials eventually discovered an online
] journal Stanzak kept about his experiences and relocated
] him to a free dorm room last Tuesday.

I got news of this from a brief NPR segment. Look closely at this site (about cloning). Pay particular attention to the "Testimonials" section. After you take it all in, sit back, take a breath and realize this is a new marketing technique to promote an upcoming movie. So the question remains, how well will this work. Will people who have family members [who've recently died] think it's funny when they contact this "company" for more info, only to find out "Thanks for your interest. the movie opens in 2005"? Think I'm being irrational? Go to Google and search for cloning...look at the very top sponsored link.

This is an interesting look at a specific point in history as seen from both sides of the issue. Part of the MIT OpenCourseWare initiative, this information really points out how history is really all about perspective.

CNN.com - Low-income housing goes wireless - Feb. 24, 2003

The rich don't pay for cars and the poor don't pay for computers or Internet access, they get it for free. While this is intended to stitch the digital divide in economic classes, I am interested in hearing your comments about whether this is necessary, fair, a waste, etc..

Yahoo! News - Man Allegedly Steals 6 Cars During Chase
Topic: Society 11:17 am EST, Feb 19, 2003

In this installment of "Gone in 60 Seconds" the suspect elludes the cops in "slow" cars and trucks. My question is, "What were the cops doing when he was stealig all these cars, WHILE they where chasing him?". Surely it takes more than 15 to 20 seconds to get out of the old car and get the new one going.

Kroger lets shoppers pay via fingerprint
Topic: Society 11:52 am EST, Dec 26, 2002

And the latest CSI goes:
Grissom: I can see the suspect prefers Heinz Ketchup and has a large dog that eats Purina.
Brass: You got that from a fingerprint?
Grissom: No, the new KROGER system.
