A brilliant idea is neither necessary nor sufficient for a successful business, although all else being equal it can't hurt. Microsoft is probably the canonical example of a successful business, and it has never had a single brilliant idea in its entire history.

(CNN) -- Police Monday responded to reports that a gunman opened fire at an Amish school, shooting several people, a state police spokesman told CNN. No other details were available. Lancaster County's 911 Web site reported dozens of emergency vehicles -- including at least nine ambulances -- were dispatched to Bart Township shortly before 11 a.m. for a "medical emergency." Video of the scene showed several Amish young men wearing hats and suspenders sitting outside the school, surrounded by dirt roads. At least one person was taken to a medical helicopter on a stretcher.
As rattle put it, not one to get pinned on videogames. About the only thing these events seem to have in common is repressive religious climates. CNN.com - Police respond to Amish school shooting - Oct 2, 2006 |

BURIED IN THE complex Senate compromise on detainee treatment is a real shocker, reaching far beyond the legal struggles about foreign terrorist suspects in the Guantanamo Bay fortress. The compromise legislation, which is racing toward the White House, authorizes the president to seize American citizens as enemy combatants, even if they have never left the United States. And once thrown into military prison, they cannot expect a trial by their peers or any other of the normal protections of the Bill of Rights.

Then, one muggy day in mid-August, Hood was surprised to see the president of Diebold's election unit, Bob Urosevich, arrive in Georgia from his headquarters in Texas. With the primaries looming, Urosevich was personally distributing a "patch," a little piece of software designed to correct glitches in the computer program. "We were told that it was intended to fix the clock in the system, which it didn't do," Hood says. "The curious thing is the very swift, covert way this was done."
More questions about Diebold stealing elections. At this point, the third world is doing a better job than we are. Rolling Stone : Robert F. Kennedy Jr. -- Will The Next Election Be Hacked? |

I really hope this isn't true, but Dustin Diamond (Screech from Saved by the Bell) supposedly has a 40-minute sex tape in which he engages in a threesome with two women and even performs a Dirty Sanchez. Phoenix-based agent David Hans Schmidt, who has brokered some of Hollywood's biggest celebrity-skin deals, confirms that he's acquired the rights to a tape featuring Diamond. "Just when you think you have seen everything in this business," he tells us, "mankind has raised the bar another notch. Or lowered it." The working title for the sex tape is "Saved by the Smell," but they should consider changing it to "The Last Video You Will Ever Watch" and then package a gun with every copy of the tape, so that after you watch it you can blow out your own brains. Because after you see a naked Screech wiping a women's upper lip with her own feces I can't imagine your brain could be thinking anything other than self termination. Kill the body to save the mind.

I think it's funny that the interviewer used his lead in from This Daily Show Interview. From Jon Stewart, who's been accused of not asking hard hitting enough questions for a comedy show. RE: Clinton PWNS Chris Wallace on Fox News - Clinton Interviewed on Fox News Sunday - Google Video |
