Who let the secrets out! Who! Who-who-who!
Topic: Politics and Law 11:53 pm EDT, Apr  7, 2006

Well, well, well. Amidst all the posturing and fist-shaking about who dared to leak the career information about CIA employee Valerie Plame, and the resulting witch hunt, it looks like we've actually found that Bush indeed did happen to "accidentally" release that information to disgrace his political enemies. Libby has now apparently testified that Bush OK'd the release of the oh-so-career-destroying information.

Whodathunkit!

I wonder if perhaps we'll get lucky and Bush will actually follow through with firing the person who leaked this information like he swore he would at a press conference shortly after this witch hunt began, and fire himself and Cheney?

Unclaimed Territory - by Glenn Greenwald: Do Bush followers have a political ideology?
Topic: Politics and Law 9:56 pm EST, Mar  2, 2006

Now, in order to be considered a "liberal," only one thing is required – a failure to pledge blind loyalty to George W. Bush. The minute one criticizes him is the minute that one becomes a "liberal," regardless of the ground on which the criticism is based. And the more one criticizes him, by definition, the more "liberal" one is. Whether one is a "liberal" -- or, for that matter, a "conservative" -- is now no longer a function of one’s actual political views, but is a function purely of one’s personal loyalty to George Bush.

N.Orleans mayor 'shocked' by pre-Katrina Bush video
Topic: Politics and Law 9:51 pm EST, Mar  2, 2006

Russ Knocke, spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security, said the video shows discussions that have been in documents previously made public. "I'm not sure what is shocking about this video. There's really nothing new or insightful from it," he said.

How about it exposes President Bush as a liar, that Chertoff was an active hindrance to getting anything done, and that the one guy on the feds side who didn't have his head shoved all the way up his ass was, of all people, Michael Brown?

Cindy Sheehan arrested for... wearing a shirt!
Topic: Politics and Law 5:54 pm EST, Feb  1, 2006

Well, if you had any doubts left as to whether or not Bush had any respect at all for Freedom of Speech, this CNN article should clear that right up for ya'.

She wore a t-shirt with an anti-war slogan on it. They asked her to cover it up, she refused, they arrested her for "unlawful conduct".

I'd like to know exactly when fashion went from being a matter of personal taste, to carrying the force of law.

Sign of the times.

What is a protest-wearing a t-shirt stating the truth about how many are DEAD?

Politicians call for better phone record privacy | CNET News.com
Topic: Politics and Law 9:02 pm EST, Jan 29, 2006

This is an update to an earlier story about Locatecell.

In response to disclosures about phone records being sold on the Internet, politicians want federal regulators to verify that the biggest service providers are adequately protecting their customers' information.

Locatecell.com was offline Thursday, its site replaced with a message from GoDaddy.com asking the site's owner to call the domain registrar. Meanwhile, Celltolls.com had a note on its site saying that it was not currently accepting queries regarding Cingular Wireless phone numbers.

Occasionally, Congress works?

I thought it was funny how many congressman acted so fast to get on this - clearly a sign they REALLY wanted to protect THEIR OWN phone records!

Cunningham answered ''yes, Your Honor'' when asked by U.S. District Judge Larry Burns if he had accepted bribes from someone in exchange for his performance of official duties.

And the hits just keep on comin'! At this rate, the Dems may get a majority based on criminal prosecutions...

""The United States has lost control of their budget at a time when racking up deficits has been authorized without any control (from Congress)," Breton said.

Lawyer denies Rove leaked Plame's name
Topic: Politics and Law 9:34 am EDT, Jul  3, 2005

So this is an article about how rove's lawyers deny that karl is the leak. My favorite is the fact that it's from the washington times... the pinnicle of straight from copy news.

a better article is this:

This might get very interesting.
