A real treat on talk radio tonight - Art Bell will be interviewing Dr. Michio Kaku. Dr. Kaku is one of my favorites! "Michio will be discussing “SETI, the Hadron Collider, and billionaire Paul Allen’s efforts in the search for alien life”, this Friday (November 30th) on Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell. Find your local radio station and catch the show." I stream from this link: http://www.610cktb.com/ Show starts a 1AM Eastern if you are up late tonight. :) Dr.Michio Kaku on Coast to Coast tonight |

Parallel universes really do exist, according to a mathematical discovery by Oxford scientists described by one expert as "one of the most important developments in the history of science". The parallel universe theory, first proposed in 1950 by the US physicist Hugh Everett, helps explain mysteries of quantum mechanics that have baffled scientists for decades, it is claimed. In Everett's "many worlds" universe, every time a new physical possibility is explored, the universe splits. Given a number of possible alternative outcomes, each one is played out - in its own universe. A motorist who has a near miss, for instance, might feel relieved at his lucky escape. But in a parallel universe, another version of the same driver will have been killed. Yet another universe will see the motorist recover after treatment in hospital. The number of alternative scenarios is endless. It is a bizarre idea which has been dismissed as fanciful by many experts. But the new research from Oxford shows that it offers a mathematical answer to quantum conundrums that cannot be dismissed lightly - and suggests that Dr Everett, who was a Phd student at Princeton University when he came up with the theory, was on the right track." Hollow earth is a good example of how Middle Ages thinking is still present in today's society. Hollow Earth? Hallow maybe. :) Or maybe Bin Ladin is living a comfortable life in Cappadocia. RE: Pravda: Another human civilization may live inside Earth's hollows |

I'm happy with my TVs, and I loved the series...and I don't have hi-def. People just like good photography and cinematography and learning. I don't plan on going hi-def anytime soon. RE: BBC's Planet Earth is highest grossing HD disc in US |

It seems our little feline friends have been around much longer than we originally thought - they broke off over 100k years ago and all our modern housecats descended from 5 original females in the Middle East. In any event, the picture is worth the click. :) Genetic Study of Domesticated Cat Offers Suprises |

I believe in the possibility of life out there - but I don't for the life of me know why people think THEY might be so loving - I'd be scared we'd contact them only to be enslaved or.......eaten. Is the search for aliens such a good idea? |

Don Herbert, Mr. Wizard, has passed away at age 90. 2nd most important science guy in my life when I was a kid... the most important thing was the giant woolly mammoth in the lobby of the Smithsonian Natural History Museum. If you put the handset to your ear the mammoth would tell you all about itself AND what new things there were to see at the museum. --timball A really great man....... He inspired so many. RIP Mr. Wizard |

That's quite a small, steep shaft. They ended up just drilling through the first one, to get to the second. It will be neat to see what technology they are going to use to get through this one. Discovery Channel :: News :: Pyramid's Secret Doors to Be Opened |
