"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."

I watched this video. I won't post a link to it, because that could be something that someone might impulsively click on and see without meaning to. However, I will tell you that OGrish has it. Its bad. Its by far the worst and most brutal I've seen yet. It starts like the other ones, with him kneeling as his murderers read their stupid proclamation, of what I don't know. The poor man is blindfolded and terrified. They pull him over to the side, same methodology, and slowly kill him as he screams. He's obviously aware until the very end, and in great fear and pain. Its brutal, its animalistic and its cowardly. Once again the killers hide in their little black ninja looking costumes so their faces cannot be seen. Besides the horrible death of a prisoner in their charge, I think that is the part that bothers me the most. That someone would film a killing wearing a mask and obstructive clothing. They treat their victims like cattle, yet they wear masks. They have to know in some part of their being that they are wrong and should be ashamed, yet they ignore it. And that, to me, is the embodiment of evil. |

] "They've done so much with outlawing and restricting ] access to abortion that they've set their sights on birth ] control because there's nothing else really they can do ] to further restrict abortion here in Wisconsin," Ms Boyce ] says. ] ] "Which is counter-intuitive because if you're against ] abortion in the least you'd think you would see the value ] in enhancing access birth control, the very means women ] look to preventing pregnancy and the need for abortion." People are for the most part stupid. I find that when you talk to them - the really gung ho 'save the babies' ones...most of them aren't EVEN against choice - they just don't have firm beliefs so they spout whatever shit it is their preacher tells them to spout. Umn, like the Bush administration didn't go in the same direction after 911? Hell, Bush wasn't elected by popular vote BEFORE 911. ] Among Putin's reforms announced Monday: the country's 89 ] regional governors will no longer be elected by popular ] vote. Instead, he will appoint them and regional ] assemblies would approve the appointments. ] ] He also announced on Monday that seats in the Duma ] (Russia's national parliament) allocated to single-member ] constituencies will be replaced with a fully proportional ] system. The move "could see the few remaining independent ] voices forced out of the federal parliament" Puntin uses school attacks to cripple democracy in Russia. |

The PROBLEM is that the PEOPLE don't give a shit. They can't think past dinner. Seems to me like a larger percentage our our population is only concerned with their own comfort, and simply use any issue that they can feel self-righteous about as a chest pounding "I DO TOO CARE" comeback for those of us that would condemn them for their intellectual laziness. Burning a flag is one of the most serious ] commentaries we can make about the activity of our government. ] I thought the ability to stand up and say, categorically, "My ] government is wrong." was somehow important to the American ] ideal. This is an extremely important point. In the past, the greatest advantage of living in the US was the freedom to stand up and voice your opinion no matter what it may be. Correct me if I'm wrong but this ideal is what our country was founded on. At the present time it seems that if your opinion does not closely coincide with the powers that be then you are in trouble. Thinking about everyone I know - how they are politically and if they fall into numbers or paragraph groups, I can really agree with this. I really disagree on the "Don't shine their shoes as often as they should" WHO SAID you had to have shiny shoes? My lackluster shoes walk as good as anyones. There are two sorts of people in the information-age elite, spreadsheet people and paragraph people. This is cute, but not particularly rigorous. It's really a set-up for the letters that would surely follow -- and they did. As expected, the spreadsheet people rush in to nitpick the column, pointing out problems with the data, citing counterexamples, and more. By comparison, the paragraph people argue that the framework itself is flawed, or that blue is really red. Ruling Class War |

This is well written and entertaining. Its very discriptive of what really happened during the protests in NYC. I know that I marveled at how very little coverage that the protests got. Most interesting was the bait and switch and possibly psy-ops tactics that the police engaged in. Great account of what happened at the RNC Protests in NYC |

The man was trying to shoot puppies in the head after being unable to find homes for them. They were placed with the local animal shelter where they will be up for adoption. The man was charged with felony animal cruelty. Ok, I don't like to think about shooting puppies either, but I'm wondering....exactly how is what the man was doing that different from what the animal shelter will do? If they don't find a home for them, they will euthanize them. That's a nice way of saying "kill them." Its maybe just not as messy as a shot in the head, but just as deadly. Puppy shoots man |
