"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."

It looks a lot like that. Maybe worse - None of the disk was left of mine - it was just shards and some metal 0 rings flew out too. I was burning a backup disk - had got up and was sorting some books, and heard a POW that sounded like something blew up over by my desk. My cat went crazy so I thought at first she did something really bad, then I saw all these pieces of CD everywhere. MY WHOLE FREAKING CD exploded. DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNN It literally BLEW UP. I gotta buy a new one. This one is so busted, lol - the whole front of the drive came off, parts flew out of it. I never had that happen before. My son came in (it woke him up several rooms away) and was like "What happened?" - I'm like "Get me a garbage sack - My CD drive just exploded." I didn't notice a crack on the disk....I looked at it pretty closely before I put it in too - it was a memorex disk.....DAMNNNNNNN My Computer EXPLODED - CDRW just Blew the hell up...... |

Some of the more tantalising tid-bits she let fall are that although Albus Dumbledore – the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry – was murdered in Half-Blood Prince, he would still have an important role in the final book, and furthermore, his killer Severus Snape (whose role is assayed by Alan Rickman in the Harry Potter films) is actually a good character. Daniel Radcliffe stars as Harry Potter in the film adaptations of J K Rowling's phenomenally successful Harry Potter series The latter bit, which had been a topic of much debate and speculation among Potter fans, was first voiced at the concert by author Salman Rushdie, who offered his theory that Snape and Dumbledore were in cahoots (over the latter’s murder) and that Dumbledore’s death was a hoax. “In my opinion, Snape is good”, he declared. Rowling’s answer: “And your opinion is right, but I feel I need to make one thing clear about Dumbledore: he is dead.” Other items the usually-reticent author let fall were that Harry’s hateful aunt Petunia Dursley would have a very important part in the final book, and heavily implied that Harry and his two friends Ron and Hermione would survive in the book, whose title Rowling is still thinking up. Rowling also said – in response to Stephen King’s question whether Harry Potter’s rival Draco Malfoy would be redeemed – that all her characters, barring the villain Lord Voldemort, “appear redeemable” and that Harry firmly believed that Draco Malfoy was not evil. This may or may not point to her claim earlier this year that while writing the book, one of her characters had been redeemed whom she hadn’t thought of redeeming earlier. Later on, at a meeting with fans, Rowling also said that the final book would explain the deep connection between a wizard and his wand." Oh....JK ROWLING leaks Harry Potter Info! |

I do like my Aqua Team Hunger Force and RobotChicken, but I'll keep cable for the Science Channel and the National Geographic channel. The only bad thing being that they seem to be runing out of shows that I've not seen. Still, when they DO come out with a new one, I like to watch it premiere. I bet I-tunes will only have older shows? RE: New TBS, Inc. Network Programming from CNN, Adult Swim & Cartoon Network Now Available on the iTunes Music Store |

At last year's Black Hat, Cisco Systems Inc. tried to stop researcher Michael Lynn from speaking about a vulnerability that he said could let hackers virtually shut down the Internet. Cisco managed to get pages documenting the flaw torn out of all 2,000 conference binders, but ultimately the biggest maker of Internet routing and switching equipment was unable to squelch Lynn's talk.
Isn't it nice to be mentioned alongside purple dye in swimming pools, the "wall of sheep", pouring cement into toilets, stealing payphones, and wiretapping ATMs? Hacker Pranks at Defcon and Black Hat in Las Vegas Emphasize Computer Security |

I flew into SFO (San Francisco) from Asia in May 2006. I went straight to the customs agent as I had no luggage. The agent asked to go through my only bag. I gave him my bag. The agent took out my laptop and turned it on. He then asked for my password He said that he wanted to verify that I had no illegal content on my hard drive... While operating my laptop he said that we was tasked with preventing illegal pornographic material from entering the United States Travis Kalanick Red Swoosh, Inc. Founder, CEO
I can't think of anything that could destroy by mood when returning to the country more throughly. I don't think the problem here is people are thinking pre-9/11, versus post-9/11. I think the problem is that they are not thinking trans-9/11. I'm starting to feel my freedoms and liberties are under far more threat from our government, than terrorists. And this really pains and distresses me.. Every time I came through SFO customs when returning to the US, after going over my paperwork, the customs agent always say something along the lines of "welcome home" as they sent me on my way. I always replied with something like "I'm happy to be home", and left the airport with a warm happy fuzzy feeling fitting of arriving home in San Francisco. If this is the "welcome home" of today, home is becoming far less welcoming. What the hell is going on? This is the direct equivalent of going through and reading someone's papers. One thing our nation has a great history of, is coming out in force whenever freedoms and liberties are not what they should be. Many of the events that have driven people in large numbers to rally around The Mall in DC have surrounded civil rights movements, anti-war movements, et cetera. Now, I just wonder how many years before a point of critical mass is hit, and the masses come to the conclusion in concert that things are not going in the right direction. Just because this is a slow erosion taking place, doesn't mean it's going to go unnoticed and unopposed. It just means it will be a straw that breaks the camel's back... From a Friend that sent me this link "It's amazing to find this type of free speech on Al Jazeera TV. This has to be the most clearly stated rebuke of the jihadis and their crazed mullahs that I have seen. Here is a powerful and amazing statement on Al Jazeera television. The woman is Wafa Sultan, an Arab-American psychologist from Los Angeles." As you watch, it is interesting to see the holy man just blasting her. To me she is so reasonable.... "BAGHDAD, Iraq, July 29 — The State Department agency in charge of $1.4 billion in reconstruction money in Iraq used an accounting shell game to hide ballooning cost overruns on its projects there and knowingly withheld information on schedule delays from Congress, a federal audit released late Friday has found. The agency hid construction overruns by listing them as overhead or administrative costs, according to the audit, written by the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction, an independent office that reports to Congress and the Pentagon." Or: How Acidus [*] learned how to port scan company intranets using JavaScript! Imagine visiting a blog on a social site like MySpace.com or checking your email on a portal like Yahoo’s Webmail. While you are reading the Web page JavaScript code is downloaded and executed by your Web browser. It scans your entire home network, detects and determines your Linksys router model number, and then sends commands to the router to turn on wireless networking and turn off all encryption. Now imagine that this happens to 1 million people across the United States in less than 24 hours. This scenario is no longer one of fiction.
You can visit the proof of concept page he created and test drive it now. This is really, really, really scar^H^H^H^H cool! Detecting, Analyzing, and Exploiting Intranet Applications using JavaScript |

"ATLANTA -- Officials announced Friday they have charged Michael William Ledford with the brutal murder of Jennifer Ewing along the Silver Comet Trail earlier this week. Officials say he could face the death penalty. He went to the Dallas Police Department around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, bleeding profusely from a wound in his genital area, according to investigators. Police say Ledford claimed he was negotiating with a prostitute for sex when she bit him on his genitals. Officers took him to the hospital for treatment." (I heard she bit his penis very badly & that he was bleeding quite bad, so much that his whole pants were blood soaked by the time he got to the hospital. SHe really did fight as best she could.)
