cbs4boston.com - Hoax Devices Creating Gridlock In Boston |

Bomb units scrambled across Boston and Somerville today to investigate several suspicious devices. The reports forced the temporary shutdowns of Interstate 93 out of the city, a key inbound roadway, a bridge between Boston and Cambridge, and a portion of the Charles River but were quickly determined not to be explosive. "It's a hoax -- and it's not funny," Gov. Deval Patrick said. Officials at Mayor Menino's office say the devices appear to resemble a cartoon character. It could be related to characters from the cartoon, "Aqua Teen Hunger Force."
This is right up there with the smiley face bomber. Heh.. It was a marketing campaign. Adult Swim paralyzed Boston. I don't care what anyone says, this is funny as hell. I mean, everyone know that having LEDs in the shape of a cartoon character is the perfect way to disguise an IED... cbs4boston.com - Hoax Devices Creating Gridlock In Boston |

RE: Chinese Regime Admits To Organ Harvesting From Prisoners |

Hijexx wrote: In the middle of January, 2007, the BBC Chinese website published an interview regarding organ harvesting in China. For the first time, China's Ministry of Health spokesman Mao Qunan admitted to the practice of organ harvesting from executed prisoners in China, which he had publicly denied before. However, Mao evaded key evidences of organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and denied that accusation. This interview was conducted by BBC senior reporter Hua Ying. An Epoch Times journalist also did an interview with Dr. Wang Wenyi, who protested at the White House during communist regime leader Hu Jintao's visit to the United States on April 20, 2006 regarding the BBC's interview The Chinese regime has had a long history of harvesting organs from executed prisoners, and an equally long history of denying this practice. In November of 2005, the regime's Deputy Minister of Ministry of Public Health, Huang Jiefu, admitted to using organs taken from executed prisoners, at an international conference in Manila. Later in April 2006, Mao stated that organs from executed prisoners constituted a very small portion of organs used in China's organ transplant industry. In November 2006, Minister Huang again admitted in a conference in Guangzhou that most of the organs used in transplants, except for a small portion from organ donors in traffic accidents, came from executed prisoners. His statement was quoted by newspapers in China.
How much do you think Saddam Hussein's organs would be worth? They might have collectors value. RE: Chinese Regime Admits To Organ Harvesting From Prisoners |

Skip to next paragraph The director of the program and three subordinates, all based in Denver, have been transferred to different jobs and have been ordered to cease all contacts with the oil industry until the investigation is completed some time next spring, according to officials involved. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation had not been announced publicly, said investigators were worried that senior government officials had been steering huge oil-trading contracts to favored companies. I was stumbling over 'defaced with a pagan pentagram" the defaced ..pagan....part is what got me. I think the star is a nice addition -of course I'm pagan - but it IS a Christian symbol after all ALSO - it has been associated forever with the 5 wounds of Christ AND the STAR of Bethlehem. I saw an interview with Clinton recently where he was saying that the Democrats biggest mistake was not fighting back. He then talked about it a bit and said that the Democrats were going to HAVE to start fighting the constant berating and put downs with facts and ire at being constantly falsely accused. So...when I saw this happen, my first thought was that Clinton is trying to lead the party by example. I never saw him as being "purple faced" or "infuriated" only righteously indignant and defensive. I applaud him - boy did he show how an eloquent politician can TALK. It made Bush's and his stumbling over his lower lip look really BAD. Clinton PWNS Chris Wallace on Fox News - Clinton Interviewed on Fox News Sunday - Google Video |

Patrick McFarland's spotty memory |

Patrick McFarland, one of the outspoken critics of Rob Levin (lilo of Freenode/PDPC) and someone incredibly hell-bent on turning Freenode/OFTC into a high-school-esqe popularity contest, has posted what I would consider to be a load of crap on his blog about Rob Levin's passing. "I was critical of his actions at times when he was alive," Translation: I made unsubstantiated accusations of tax fraud, embezzlement, and worse against Rob Levin on a regular basis. "I just hope that since he’s gone now, Freenode can continue on without him there to lead anymore. I may have not agreed with his choices, but I don’t think there are any people out there that could have brought Freenode this far." I also find this hard to believe, considering how often McFarland made it appear that he felt that quite possibly, lilo was the worst thing to ever happen to Freenode, and that he was also accusing Rob of demolishing projects and services through foot dragging and politics. Note also that the reek of untruth of this post is tailed by the "No comments" flag, meaning McFarland doesn't really want anyone to call him out on this... even though one of the other things he's been critical of lilo about was one of censorship. Now, I also felt that Spinhome was a little farcical (C'mon, a winnebago to keep an IRC operator mobile? That's overkill on the level of venture capitalism.) but I certainly wasn't getting this bent out of shape about it, since there wasn't a whole lot of donating towards this going on. Perhaps one day Freenode would have become important enough that such a thing would be warranted (which might well have been about the time they hit the $310K-mark on donations), but this sort of thing tends to be self-regulating (people don't donate to projects they feel are stupid) and attacking PDPC and Levin in the manner McFarland was engaging in was nothing but juvenile. In closing, I find it very odd that even with the disinhibiting factor of the Internet, people still find it necessary to say things they don't believe for a moment as "last respects". McFarland should have just left well enough alone rather than make a cheap last-minute bid to try to pretend that he wasn't being a knobgoblin to a competing project. Steve Irwin (Crocodile Hunter) Dead - Killed by Stingray |

Some people say he was a 'victim' of 'animal voyeurism' tv. What kind of spin is that? Steve Irwin was a great guy - most of his money went to funding conservation efforts and a wildlife rehabilitation center. He loved animals and was a tremendous conservationist. He was not some new fangled whim of pop culture - he WAS a terrific conservationist and educator, and this family admired him very much. We are saddened that he is dead. Perhaps my husband put it best (although rather coarsely)when he said: "If Tony Blair or Bush died, I'd not give a shit, but Steve Irwin was one of the GOOD GUYS and this just blows." The Picture Project - Reclaiming Photos lost by Katrina |

"Underneath the fallen roofs, scattered lumber and torn siding, a family portrait peaked out from behind a wedding photo - both splintered with broken glass from torn-apart frames. With so much clean up to do after the storm, these photographs quickly became labeled as un-repairable debris. Hurricane Katrina hadn’t just changed the present and future lives of those living in southern Mississippi; she also drowned their past, leaving the memories faded and molded. The Picture Project was created in order to help the residents of Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi, retrieve photographs lost during Hurricane Katrina. Thousands of images have been collected and scanned in hopes of the owners finding them. For the first time so many memories that would be once lost or forgotten now have the chance to go back to southern Mississippi, to be reframed, put into new scrapbooks and for new generations to see. Kodak, the Biloxi Sun Herald, United Van lines, and many other sponsors have helped to make this possible. If you or someone you know has lost photographs due to damage in the storm, please look through our albums to see if your memories can come back home." C-Span Airing Of L.A. Conference Shows Mainstreaming Of 9/11 Truth |

A decision that many of us were waiting on with baited breath - C-Span's scheduling of the American Scholars Symposium highlights - infuses the 9/11 truth movement with a fresh injection of credibility and exposure to more mainstream audiences. The panel features incredible presentations by 9/11 Scholars for Truth founder James Fetzer, BYU Physics Professor Steven Jones, President of the Institute for Space and Security Studies Dr. Robert M. Bowman, Lt. Col., USAF, ret., Filmmaker and Radio Broadcaster Alex Jones, and Terrorism Expert Webster Tarpley. C-Span viewers will witness what many consider to be the most hard hitting conference to date including the most professional and credible speakers ever assembled. ... The program will air on C-SPAN 1 at 8PM EST (7PM CST) on Saturday, July 29th and then air again for the West Coast at 11pm EST (10pm CST). ... I've been a subscriber to Alex Jones' website for the last two years. I've seen most of the presentations from this conference. It's fairly amazing to me that CSPAN is airing some of the talks. I know 9/11 conspiracies are still a hot button topic, but nothing is going to be easier that setting your Tivo's to record this and spending a couple of hours out of your life to at least hear what the people on the other side of the fence are saying. I've been lambasted for my views in the past on Memestreams and have pretty much given up trying to talk about my research here. You have to arrive at your own conclusions. I've been equated with people who believe the towers didn't really collapse and were just special effects and Holocaust deniers in the same breath (thank you for that Elonka, it made my day let me tell you.) There are too many unanswered questions about 9/11 for me though, so I press on with research. Still, this should be an easy pick. I really believe you should check it out. You can even watch CSPAN online if you don't have cable TV (like me.) Would love to hear back from all of you that choose to watch it and tell me what you thought. C-Span Airing Of L.A.
