What Shall I Be?
Topic: Society 2:08 pm EST, Feb 12, 2007

Imagine that when the Bay Shore, NY-based Selchow & Righter Company sent it to toy store shelves in 1966 that they saw it as a progressive step. "Let's get our little American girls ready for the wide-open working world!".

Valentines Day is quickly approaching and a new online dating study proves that both men and women lie in they're profiles. Why? I thought this would be a good time to take a look at the world of online dating, one I've visited and quickly left... ok I ran screaming.

Think Like Leonardo da Vinci
Topic: Society 3:10 pm EST, Feb  9, 2007

Leonardo was an observer who dreamed & than created the dream. In our current day though, the notion of doing multiple things in our lives is considered an impossible achievement that only the very gifted can achieve. It's a notion that can be destroyed if we accept that we are capable of doing great things.

Live Longer: Be Boring?
Topic: Society 6:07 pm EST, Feb  8, 2007

Life can be thrilling and adventurous, not filled with emotional drama from you or from others, but with new places and new things. I was once told

"You can't have fun all the time."

Why not? Is it some cosmic rule? Thou shall not have fun on the 7th day? I don't remember that from Catholic school. Than again, I believe it was someone from Catholic school that may have said that to me... never mind.

Goth Mayor Candidate on Racism -
Topic: Society 12:48 pm EST, Feb  7, 2007

... I was across the street and I heard him yell “Hey – aren’t you running for Mayor?” I said yes, and he asked me to come over. I’m not trying to make an issue of my own heritage or anything ...I certainly have seen what it’s like to be discriminated against just because the color of your skin doesn’t match your city. My father is African American and he faced a lot of unnecessary discrimination from police,... People wondered why he was kidnapping some white kid (me)

My feelings regarding U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings speech at the 2006 Federal Student Aid (FSA) conference in Las Vegas.

I felt angry that she said that Americans do not hunger for a college degree. I believe that is not the truth. Yet again, I feel U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings is failing to see is that it is not only a case of obtaining financial aid but it is the question of how will a person let alone a family will live from month to month while trying to obtain their degree.

Five Things I Wish Someone Would Have Told Me In High School
Topic: Society 6:04 pm EST, Feb  6, 2007

I ignored all those nagging teachers saying

"How are you going to calculate how much the cool shirt is going to cost after the sale discount"?

- Who cares...{roll my eyes} That was my average answer to that question. Well guess what? Those annoying teachers were right, I use math everyday.
