"People believed that the GPL made it impossible for a company to come along and steal code that was the result of community effort. That may have been the case so long as the processor was open, and anyone could access supervisor mode. But TCPA changes that completely. Once the majority of PCs on the market are TCPA-enabled, the GPL won't work as intended any more. " A more coherent discussion of the threat of processor certs. (I did a talk on this at SummerCon 1997.) People should simply refuse to buy computers that refuse to do what they are told. Worked with DivX... If this fails, then lets organize a collaborative cracking effort... More Ross Anderson on Vile TCPA |

"The US Supreme Court has narrowly decided, by a vote of five justices to four, that state funds can be used to pay for religious schools. The ruling is a victory for the religious right, which wants the biblical story of creation taught in schools instead of evolution." Now this is the type of thing that just makes me pissed. This is just blatent disregard for the constitution in my opinion. New Scientist- 'Creationist victory' in US Supreme Court |

The United States has threatened to withdraw from all U.N.-authorised peacekeeping missions around the world if the 15-nation U.N. Security Council fails to grant it assurances that U.S. nationals are safe from the court's grasp. Dreamed-Of World War Crimes Court Becomes Reality - Yahoo! News |

Hurray! Just when I thought it was all going to hell in a hand-basket there is a bright ray of sunshine. Now if only people would understand what a crock it is to have to pledge allegiance to any particular nation at all (much less a god). . .
