Who Armed Iraq? Charles R. Smith Monday, March 17, 2003 Myth vs. Fact Name one weapon in the Iraqi arsenal that was made in the United States. I have offered that challenge to dozens of so-called anti-war activists who claim that the U.S. armed Iraq. According to these protesters for "peace," George Bush Sr. and Ronald Reagan supplied Iraq with tons of weapons. None have been able to name the specific weapon missile, bomb, fighter, tank or shell that is U.S.-made or has U.S. equipment installed in it. None have been able to name any specific weapon system. ... Time to separate the myth from the reality. The propaganda spun by the far left is false. The facts show that Iraq is armed with a wide range of weapons none of which came from the U.S.
=== btw, particularly ironic is this : Since when is a truck a weapon? Are the Iraqis going to drive backwards, fuel tank first, into the U.S. Army?
Apparently the Iraqi irregulars have used a gasoline truck to blow up a US M1A1 tank.. =darwin Who Armed Iraq? |

] Federal investigators have arrested an enigmatic Wall ] Street wiz on insider-trading charges -- and incredibly, ] he claims to be a time-traveler from the year 2256! ] Carlssin declared that he had traveled back in time from ] over 200 years in the future, when it is common knowledge ] that our era experienced one of the worst stock plunges ] in history. Yet anyone armed with knowledge of the ] handful of stocks destined to go through the roof could ] make a fortune. ] ] "It was just too tempting to resist," Carlssin allegedly ] said in his videotaped confession. "I had planned to make ] it look natural, you know, lose a little here and there ] so it doesn't look too perfect. But I just got caught in ] the moment." ] ] In a bid for leniency, Carlssin has reportedly offered to ] divulge "historical facts" such as the whereabouts of ] Osama Bin Laden and a cure for AIDS. Hahaha.. If the guys managed to nail 126 trades, taking $800 to $350m, he clearly has oodles of inside information. So much so, that time travel is about the only explanation for it.. It is eerie that there is no record of him.. Of course, he might not be using his real name. What stocks did he buy? Thats the information I want.. Oh yeah.. And that one peice of information that the Weekly World News always leaves out that conclusively proves its all bullshit.. 'TIME-TRAVELER' BUSTED FOR INSIDER TRADING |

] It was a long day for protesters and police alike. ] Officers in riot gear hustled to keep up with roving ] bands of demonstrators. Roughly 1,500 of the Police ] Department's 2,300 officers were on street duty, ] officials said, costing the city $500,000 in police ] overtime. ] ] The worst came during the evening commute. ] ] Hundreds of demonstrators repeatedly tried to storm the ] Bay Bridge, paralyzing traffic for blocks around. A ] phalanx of California Highway Patrol officers and city ] police turned them back after shutting down two ] approaches to the span and unleashing pepper spray to ] disperse a crowd near Fremont and Harrison streets. ] "We had a beautiful and very successful action today," ] Ilyse Hogue of Direct Action yelled into a megaphone to ] demonstrators gathered outside the Federal Building. ] "We were able to unplug the war machine for a day." Able to unplug the war machine for a day? How? Sounds like you just tried to screwed up San Francisco.. From what I've read about the riots^Wprotests, they sound more like an excuse to go out and break shit and cause trouble for the cops then peaceful protest against the war.. Am I missing something? Am I a victim of the war propaganda? I don't think so.. I'm just really fustrated with the peace protesters. Peace protest requires peace.. Not violence, and that is what I keep hearing about.. Violence at peace protests.. Thats not what we need.. Thats not what gets a message across. Maybe all the anger takes root in how powerless people feel to affect change.. Whatever it is, the violence and vandalism does not help the protest.. Rather, it hurts it.. Makes it easier to dismiss. ] Mayor Willie Brown said in no uncertain terms that, ] although he opposes the war, he had no patience for ] the demonstrators and he lamented the tremendous ] cost the demonstrators had inflicted on the city. ] ] "I must express my frustration at the tactics of ] some protesters, who have chosen to specifically try ] to disrupt this city, rather than gather peacefully ] to voice their desire for peace, at the expense of the ] day-to-day lives of ordinary San Franciscans -- and at ] great cost to the city," he said in a statement ] Thursday afternoon. I can understand how he feels. 1,400 arrests in war protest in S.F. - Police OverTime $500,000 |

] U.S. Marines searching Iraqi military headquarters in ] this southern city that was the site of intensive ] fighting came across a mural depicting a plane crashing ] into a building complex resembling New York's twin ] towers, a news agency photograph showed Wednesday. This has been all over the news.. Now, if they attempt to date its creation somehow, and it was made before 9/11/2001, then its going to be something really damming.. Otherwize, its just a particularly offending peice of propaganda.. I don't think it proves a link between Saddam and 911, which seems to be why its being spun so hard.. The Bush Admin and the Media are doing anything they can to establish that Saddam/911 link. They have attached so much (too much) of the justification for this war to that largely unproven link..
