The mother of Icelandic pop singer Bjork is 11 days into a hunger strike in protest at plans to develop part of Iceland's wilderness. Hildur Runa Hauksdottir is trying to stop the aluminium producer Alcoa building a smelter and power plant in the area above Vatnajokull in east Iceland.
