A recent find. This is the sort of thing I should like. For 50 years, From Our Own Correspondent (FooC) has been one of BBC Radio's flagship programmes. Every week correspondents from around the world report on the stories behind the headlines, often bringing a personal perspective to them.
I found FooC via the recent report, Unsung heroes of Afghanistan: And so, while the country braces itself for someone's spring offensive, the clearing up, the eradication, the rebuilding and empowerment go on. A lot of it is unsung. It is undoubtedly not enough. And if the fighting and the corruption continue unchecked, it could all still come to nought.
Amid the hubbub over the 'surge' in Iraq, Afghanistan falls off the radar. BBC NEWS | Programmes | From Our Own Correspondent |
