In the brave new search-world of cyberspace, old notions of prominence and placement are less important. The notion of what constitutes good "real estate" for the eye will thus have to shift from the physical/visual relationship with the viewer to the linked relationship among key words. The high cost of game development means that only the largest companies can afford to be in the business. While low-budget movies can occasionally become hits, "it is now impossible to 'Blair Witch' this business." All this complexity costs money. Mr. Goodman estimates that today's $5 million to $10 million in development costs will rise to $7 million to $15 million with the new generation of games. To compensate, publishers can be expected to raise retail prices. HDTV Is a New Reality for Game Developers |

20Q.net is an experiment in artificial intelligence. The program is very simple but its behavior is complex. Everything that it knows and all questions that it asks were entered by people playing this game. 20Q.net is a learning system; the more it is played, the smarter it gets. 20Q.net |

Alright, admit it. You've sat in meetings where people have said things like this: "Reengineering our paradigm towards monetizing our customer base will indubitably ramp-up our global synergies and dovetail smoothly with our virtual workspace vertical portal initiatives ... moving forward, that is." The giddily morbid game that you so loved as a child has been repurposed, reengineered, and mega-re-paradigmed to serve as a loopy learning tool. We're sure you'll find it a mission-critical experience that adds value and expands your core competencies. Buzzword Hangman |

If anyone ever begins to wonder what has taken Polyphony so long to deliver this game, it's because they want to make it as good as they can and apparently they never sleep. In stores on January 17, 2005. Gran Turismo 4 |

Has anyone played this yet? To celebrate the release of MGS3 in North America, Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa will take part in signing events in Los Angeles on November 30, 2004. By going online, you can download "Special Camouflage Patterns" that are not available in the game. MGS3 won the "Best PS2 Game" Award for unprecedented levels of new ideas and designs, especially in the creation of an actual ecosystem for the player to experience survival, in addition to its cinematic style. There was a secret condition in the deal that put an end to the Cuban Missile crisis. Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov, a Soviet scientist who had defected to the West, was to be sent back to the Soviet Union. The US government agreed to this stipulation, and returned Sokolov to his native land. Little did they know that Sokolov was to be the designer of a nightmarish weapon. Now, with Sokolov back in their hands, the Soviets are ready to resume its development. If this weapon is completed, it will mark the beginning of a new age of fear. August 1964. Realizing at last the urgency of the situation, the CIA forms a plan to recapture Sokolov. They dispatch the covert FOX unit to Sokolov's research facility. August 24. A lone soldier swoops down from out of the blue. The man's code name is Naked Snake. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater |

My significant other works for Electronic Arts, and I'm what you might call a disgruntled spouse. Our adventures with Electronic Arts began less than a year ago. I remember that they asked him in one of the interviews: "how do you feel about working long hours?" When asked for specifics about what "working long hours" meant, the interviewers coughed and glossed on to the next question. Now we know why. EA: The Human Story |
