Increasingly, a new division has become apparent, defined not by competing political ideologies but by competing economic and political interests and contradictory ideas about what democracy represents. Increasingly, they seem to be talking past each other. They happen to be talking about Russia and the West, but could just as easily be talking about Red and Blue in the United States.
