The Gulf War was the best managed war in history, from a PR perspective. Interestingly, though an unknown number of Iraqis were killed, buried in trenches and bombed, mostly, no images escaped to US television. At the same time, many US 'smart weapons' appear to have been virtually worthless despite wartime claims of A+ accuracy. This article also brings to mind an account in the latest Harper's by a Gulf verteran Marine sniper who describes a complete clusterfuck as far as coordination and organization go, resulting in friendly fire casualties, which the military naturally minimized (i.e. lied about). Bodies? What Bodies? |

If at first you don't succeed, ... The plan, known as eDNA, called for developing a new version of the Internet that would include enclaves where it would be impossible to be anonymous while using the network. The technology would have divided the Internet into secure "public network highways," where a computer user would have needed to be identified, and "private network alleyways," which would not have required identification. Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone makes milk cheaper by causing cows to pump out more of the stuff, and brings in lots of money for Monsanto. It also induces very elevated levels of IGF-1 (Insulin Growth Factor-1) which is a powerful tumor growth promoter. Only one test of safety was ever done, and the FDA will not allow anyone to see the raw data for peer review. Cheaper milk also means more small dairy farms go out of business. You won't find this out from Fox News, who is now suing the reporters who uncovered the story to keep them from INDEPENDANTLY publishing their findings. Find the full story of food industry business-as-usual here.... PR Watch: Monsanto and Fox: Partners in Censorship |

] Unions and management agree that we ought to sell the ] time of our lives in exchange for survival, although they ] haggle over the price. Marxists think we should be bossed ] by bureaucrats. The FAA, NORAD and the military have cooperative procedures by which fighter jets automatically intercept commercial aircraft under emergency conditions. These procedures were not followed. ... U.S. air safety and air defense emergency systems are activated in response to problems every day. On 9-11 they failed despite, not because of, the extreme nature of the emergency. This could only happen if individuals in high positions worked in a coordinated way to make them fail. GUILTY FOR 9-11: BUSH, RUMSFELD, MYERS |

Thanks flynn23: Interesting analysis of news stories from 10 different media outlets. Passages are quoted from 1998 and 2002. All of these passages relate to the big lie that UN weapons inspectors were expelled from Iraq in 1998. It's a bold faced lie being propagated by the following culprits: ABC News NBC News Associated Press, The Los Angeles Times, The National Public Radio Cable News Network USA Today New York Times, The Washington Post, The Newsday Not terribly shocking given the corporate media consolidation in the last decade (what are we down to now, like 4 or 5 major holding corporations?) but I've never seen it laid out in such a clear, concise before and after format.
