"I'm really happy to be back in Calgary; I love Canada," he said. "I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my (former girlfriends). I don't know what that's about, but enjoy the game tonight." He then walked out of the locker room.
The ACTUAL quote was, "I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about, but enjoy the game tonight." I suppose if your goal is to start a fight before the game even begins, that's a great way to do it. Avery ranks right up there with Ogie Oglethorpe and Tim "Dr. Hook" McKraken. Sean Avery Suspended From NHL For Elisha Cuthbert "Sloppy Seconds" Remark |

The winless St. Louis Rams fired coach Scott Linehan on Monday, the day after a fourth straight lopsided loss to start the season.
Dead on with the predictions made. Most were thinking he'd last until the bye week. Nope. Better question, why did they ever hire him? The guy was Mike Tice's offensive coordinator, and it's not like the Vikings were burning up the league with their offensive acumen. Winless Rams fire coach Scott Linehan - NFL - Yahoo! Sports |

Matt Millen insisted he would stick with the tough job of turning the Detroit Lions into a winner instead of returning to the broadcast booth to make easy money. So the Lions got rid of him. Finally.
I posted about this over two years ago, they should have canned Matt Millen. Someone finally paid attention. Lions fire president Millen after 31-84 record - Yahoo! News |

Barry Bonds, Jose Canseco, Roger Clemens, Andy Petite, Todd Pratt, Gary Bennett, Paul Byrd, Dave Justice, Fernando Vina, Alex Cabrera, Brian Roberts, Lenny Dykstra, and many more. I know them, or have been friends with them, or know them through competing against them, and many more names on that list. If you plan on writing some idiotic off the cuff rant slanted one way or another feel free to close the page now, it will be deleted. The opinion I am offering is mine and mine alone. Regardless of whether you view it as right or wrong it’s my opinion from what some might call an insiders perspective.
Schilling on the steroid mess. I'm not that big a fan of his, but this is a good piece on the topic from a perspective you're not going to find elsewhere. One players take on the Mitchell Report, Canseco, Clemens, records, looking back or going forward…. « 38 Pitches |

The sport of bull riding may start drug testing some of its athletes – not the riders, the bulls. As if the four-legged beasts that weigh up to 2,200 pounds don't have enough testosterone, some bull owners allegedly are injecting the animals with anabolic steroids.
Okay, now this is starting to get weird... It's okay to feed cows BGH so they get bigger for getting sent to the supermarket, but not okay if they're trying to get a little revenge? Bulls, not riders, under steroids cloud in bull riding - Yahoo! Sports |
