Bush, who appeared almost playful, fastened the heavy medal around Muhammad Ali's neck and whispered something in the heavyweight champion's ear. Then, as if to say "bring it on," the president put up his dukes in a mock challenge. Ali, 63, who has Parkinson's disease and moves slowly, looked the president in the eye -- and, finger to head, did the "crazy" twirl for a couple of seconds. The room of about 200, including Cabinet secretaries, tittered with laughter. Ali, who was then escorted back to his chair, made the twirl again while sitting down. And the president looked visibly taken aback, laughing nervously.
I'm not sure what the hell just happened, but I think W just got "dissed." At the White House, Prizes for 14 Champs |

"We don't want to sacrifice the real ability to get a full picture of Mike's experiences," he said. "We don't want to sacrifice that ability simply in order to make an image point."
Good riddance. And if you want a full picture of "Mike's Experiences" read his emails and then watch his statements from that first week of September. You don't need "Brownie" to try to cover his own ass. CNN.com - Former FEMA chief Brown off payroll - Nov 9, 2005 |

On June 9, the church received a letter from the IRS stating that "a reasonable belief exists that you may not be tax-exempt as a church … " The federal tax code prohibits tax-exempt organizations, including churches, from intervening in political campaigns and elections.
Now they're going after churches for preaching peace? It's okay if they support blowing people up? Funny, I don't remember seeing "Thou shalt not kill (unless you have a war, then it's okay)" in the Commandments. I don't remember seeing "Turn the other cheek, but if he hits that one too, you can kick the crap out of him," in the New Testament either. Antiwar Sermon Brings IRS Warning - Los Angeles Times |

DeLay's attorneys cited 34 political contributions Perkins has made to Democrats since 2000, including donations to MoveOn.org, a liberal advocacy group that has waged a campaign against DeLay. Perkins has said that his contributions to MoveOn.org were made before it launched its anti-DeLay campaign. Prosecutors also argue that six of the contributions were wrongly counted twice by DeLay's attorneys. DeLay and his associates are a
So let me see if I have this right. DeLay, under indictment for money laundering. The judge is no good because he's a democrat, and that means he will be biased against him. So here's the catch. Judges in Texas are elected, so they're either Democrats or Republicans. If DeLay gets a recusal on this one, then bag the Texas judiciary because the whole state is going to be a problem. In her withdrawal letter to the president, Miers said she was "concerned that the confirmation process presents a burden for the White House and its staff and it is not in the best interest of the country."
Harriet, we hardly knew ya. Of course, that was the problem, NO ONE knew anything about you except W, and the meet and greets were actually making that problem worse. Back to the drawing board for this. CNN.com - Miers withdraws Supreme Court nomination - Oct 27, 2005 |
