“It’s just astounding,” the source told New York Magazine. “It came through loud and clear from the Bush people—they wouldn’t sign the deal if Clinton were allowed to speak.”
I didn't think much of the Bushies before this, but now that this has come out I only have one word to describe them. Fascists. Bush Threatens U.N. Over Clinton Climate Speech |

But my experience with our political leaders has opened my eyes to just how easily the private wishes of normal Americans like me and Terri can be cast aside in the destructive game of political pandering.

"We are not going to put an artificial timetable on this thing. We are going to give the president well-considered proposals and then he will decide where he wants to go,"

The Marianas Variety Online reports that Governor-elect Benigno R. Fitial says he will cooperate with federal authorities in the ongoing investigation of Rep. Tom Delay and former Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff, whom he once described as his “close friends.”
Oops. Now what this means is even if Tom DeLay manages to dig out from under the Texas indictments, it just means he has another hot seat waiting for him in federal court. Door's on the left... Marianas Governor-elect to Cooperate in Ambramoff Probe |

Thank you for the quote Mr. Bush. As it turns out, Iraq was devestated by us when we invaded, so I guess that makes you the dictator? Bush Lauds Iraq Progress, Cites Challenges - Yahoo! News |

For the next seven years Hager sodomized Davis without her consent while she slept roughly once a month until their divorce in 2002, she claims. "My sense is that he saw [my narcolepsy] as an opportunity,"
Hager is one of the FDA guys who opposed Plan B and well known on the Christian right. Based on this, he probably needs to be fed depo-prevara and sent to the big house where he can find out just how much fun taking it up the back door without consent is. Dr. Hager's Family Values |

Wilkerson blamed Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and like-minded aides. He said Cheney must have sincerely believed that Iraq could be a spawning ground for new terror assaults, because "otherwise I have to declare him a moron, an idiot or a nefarious bastard."
I'm not sure why Cheney believing that disqualifies any of those descriptors... Ex-Powell Aide Criticizes Detainee Effort - Yahoo! News |

Michael Scanlon, a former partner to lobbyist Jack Abramoff, pleaded guilty Monday to conspiring to bribe public officials, a charge growing out of the government investigation of attempts to defraud Indian tribes and corrupt a member of Congress. Scanlon, a former aide to Rep. Tom DeLay, entered the plea before U.S. District Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle and agreed to pay restitution totaling more than $19 million to the tribes.

"Reasonable people can disagree about the conduct of the war but it is irresponsible for Democrats to now claim that we misled them and the American people," Bush said.
Why would it be irresponsible if it were true? Three years ago we kept hearing WMDs WMDs WMDs, yet while that chant was going on, we (meaning us, the people not in Washington) weren't hearing the CIA's version which said, ummm, maybe but we doubt it, or anyone else's version, we were hearing the now infamous "16 words" and Powell's pile of crap at the UN. Misleading the Democrats who had access to the full reports? That's a harder sell. Misleading the public? I think that's another story entirely. Bush Escalates Bitter Iraq War Debate - Yahoo! News |
