In a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court, Valerie Plame and her husband, Joseph Wilson, a former U.S. ambassador, accused Cheney, Rove and I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby of revealing Plame's CIA identity in seeking revenge against Wilson for criticizing the Bush administration's motives in Iraq.
The popular comment is, "You go girl!" Now we'll get to watch them scream that they can't do this, which unfortunately, they can. The precedent was created by the Republicans pushing so hard to allow the Paula Jones case. Whoops. Petard? Meet hoist. Former CIA officer sues Cheney over leak - Yahoo! News |

That will mean that over the next year Citgo will withdraw completely from 10 states and stop supplying some stations in four additional states, Citgo spokesman Fernando Garay said Wednesday. Chavez has long claimed that parts of Citgo's business produce losses for Venezuela and constitute a subsidy for the U.S. economy.
Interesting to see what effect this will actually have. Citgo to stop selling gas at U.S. stations |

When General Motors cites retiree costs, the giant auto maker has a point: It owed nearly 700,000 U.S. workers and retirees pensions that totaled $87.8 billion at the end of last year. But $95.3 billion had already been set aside to pay those benefits when due. .... GM has often said its U.S. pension plans added about $800 to the cost of each car made in the U.S. in 2004. It declines to say how much was due to executive pensions.
Well considering that the general pension fund is $7.5 BILLION over, and GM is collecting interest on it, that $800 and then some is due to executive pensions. Unions causing problems my ass. (Of course in its discussion of legislative history the Court wholly ignores the President's signing statement, which explicitly set forth his understanding that the DTA ousted jurisdiction over pending cases.)
Of everything in the opinion, concurrences and dissents, nothing is as scary as this one line from Scalia. He is assigning, at minimum, the equivalence of legislative intent to a signing statement. The executive is not the legislative and equating them is a grossly pernicious error. HAMDAN v. RUMSFELD, SECRETARY OF DEFENSE, et al. |

King urged the Justice Department to "begin an investigation and prosecution of The New York Times," and Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kansas, asked the administration to make an assessment of damage caused by the stories.
I'm confused. How is the re-disclosure of this (it was orginally cited in a UN report in 2002) threaten anything? The only NEW thing that has come out is that it looks like Congress wasn't notified that they were doing so, and Congress may not even need to be notified? Furthermore, why are they not calling for the heads of the LA Times and the Wall Street Journal? The bottom line is, this is bullshit. If they were honest about this, they'd be going after everyone, instead they're screaming "New York Times! New York Times!" like Chicken Little. The information has been out there and publically recommended by the UN for three and a half years. The only "threat" this news report was to national security was to George and Dick's continued tenure. The actual threat is less than zero. Now here's a better question and it's why are they REALLY so pissed off? Since the information is of little/zero use in going after terrorists, what were they actually doing with the information? Would it have anything to do with the phone records? How about all the data they have from ChoicePoint? How about the NSA rooms that appear to be designed to monitor the whole internet? The seven were indicted on charges that they wanted to blow up the Sears Tower in Chicago and the FBI bureau in Miami. The arrests came in the nick of time, since all that prevented mass murder, mayhem and an incessant crawl at the bottom of our TV screens was the lack of explosives, weapons or vehicles. The alleged conspirators did have boots, which were supplied by an FBI informant. Maybe the devil does wear Prada.
When the "Miami Seven" is the administration's idea of a big terrorist bust it's time to get a new administration. And while we're on the topic of that, why haven't these guys been labeled "enemy combatants?" Or has the White outHouse given up on that designation? Terror Alert: Severe Risk of Hype |

Ejaculation of semen is entirely involuntary in the human male, and in all other forms of terrestrial life. It would be unreasonable to assume otherwise for a kryptonian. But with kryptonian muscles behind it, Kal-El's semen would emerge with the muzzle velocity of a machine gun bullet. (*One can imagine that the Kent home in Smallville was riddled with holes during Superboy's puberty. And why did Lana Lang never notice that?*)
Given the new movie, I thought this would be nice to provide a link to. Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex |
