CQ Politics | Sources: Wiretap Recorded Rep. Harman Promising to Intervene for AIPAC |

What is new is that Harman is said to have been picked up on a court-approved NSA tap directed at alleged Israel covert action operations in Washington. And that, contrary to reports that the Harman investigation was dropped for “lack of evidence,” it was Alberto R. Gonzales, President Bush’s top counsel and then attorney general, who intervened to stop the Harman probe.
Wow, that would be a "Holy Shit!" moment. Mostly because it's a) a go to jail moment, and b) Fredo stopped an investigation of the other party for political reasons. Funny, everyone gets shit on their face from this one. CQ Politics | Sources: Wiretap Recorded Rep. Harman Promising to Intervene for AIPAC |

There are more of these scripts here. And wow, have these guys left the reality train. Republican PSA? |

The Associated Press: Ohio's Demjanjuk is denied stay of deportation |

An immigration appeals board has denied an emergency stay of deportation requested by John Demjanjuk (dem-YAHN'-yuk), who faces charges in Germany that he served as a Nazi death camp guard during World War II.
A) I thought he was already dead. B) Going through the history, he was accused of being one guy and sentenced to death by Israel, but their courts tossed that after being given information by the Russians. C) He's now accused of being someone else? I don't know whether he actually did it or not, but this is looking like a vendetta, and 64 years after the end of the war, I say let drop the issue and let God sort this one out. He doesn't have long left and has been going through this stuff for 20+ years already. The Associated Press: Ohio's Demjanjuk is denied stay of deportation |

Rachel Maddow and Ana Marie Cox have a bit of fun at the teabaggers' expense. I don't know how either one of them made it through this segment without completely busting a gut.
If you haven't seen this, well, I'm not even sure what to say. I think they've got the "ridicule and derision" part down. The Rachel Maddow Show -- Insani-Tea: Conservatives Rally Around "Teabagging" | Video Cafe |

Be that as it may, Mr. Limbaugh acknowledged that New Yorkers were “probably going to celebrate” his departure. He may be right. Mr. Paterson was certainly not choking back tears. For him, having Mr. Limbaugh leave is a dissociation for a better New York. “If I knew that would be the result,” he said, “I would’ve thought about the taxes earlier.”
And the blind governor gets off a good one liner. NYC - Paterson, Limbaugh and Pericles - NYTimes.com |

Here is another great moment in A.P. history. In its quest to become the RIAA of the newspaper industry, the A.P.’s executives and lawyers are beginning to match their counterparts in the music industry for cluelessness. A country radio station in Tennessee, WTNQ-FM, received a cease-and-desist letter warning from an A.P. vice president of affiliate relations for posting videos from the A.P.’s official Youtube channel on its Website.
And now today's episode of "Attack of the morans" (spelling intentional). A.P. Exec Doesn’t Know It Has A YouTube Channel: Threatens Affiliate For Embedding Videos |

Dear Bill: Thanks for including the Chicago Sun-Times on your exclusive list of newspapers on your "Hall of Shame." To be in an O'Reilly Hall of Fame would be a cruel blow to any newspaper. It would place us in the favor of a man who turns red and starts screaming when anyone disagrees with him. My grade-school teacher, wise Sister Nathan, would have called in your parents and recommended counseling with Father Hogben.

It doesn't look like we'll be getting a Harold & Kumar 3 for a while: Kal Penn has quit acting. But it's not for the Joaquin Phoenix reasons or even the Viggo Mortensen reasons. Penn is taking a job in the White House.
Kumar escapes Guantanamo Bay, and lands in the White House. Kal Penn Goes to Work for Obama - Get The Big Picture - |
