Experts say US funding Somali warlords - Yahoo! News
Topic: War on Terrorism 8:00 pm EDT, Jun  5, 2006

Prendergast estimated that CIA-operated flights into Somalia have been bringing in $100,000 to $150,000 per month for the warlords. The flights remain in Somalia for the day, he said, so that U.S. agents can confer with their allies.

Cool, we really are the black hats. Seems we've been funneling money into Somalia that's being used to circumvent a UN arms trading ban.

Don Pardo? Who's our next contestant?

Pentagon to omit Geneva ban from new army manual: report - Yahoo! News
Topic: War on Terrorism 2:46 pm EDT, Jun  5, 2006

New policies on prisoners being drawn up by the Pentagon will reportedly omit a key tenet of the Geneva Convention that explicitly bans "humiliating and degrading treatment."

Hey guess what? We're the bad guys now. And now here's where it gets funny. As signatories to a ratified Geneva Convention, the military is required to follow it.

Why doesn't George simply break open the glass at the National Archives and piss right on the Constitution and Declaration of Independence?

Marty Kaplan: Professor Stupidest | The Huffington Post
Topic: War on Terrorism 4:27 pm EDT, May 25, 2006

In a May 25, 2006 article describing Georgetown University faculty opposition to a teaching appointment for Douglas J. Feith, former Bush Administration undersecretary of defense for policy planning and analysis, the Times noted that Army Gen. Tommy R. Franks, top commander of the Iraq invasion, once referred to Mr. Feith as "the stupidest guy on the face of the earth."

However, according to Gen. Franks' autobiography, "American Soldier," what he actually called Mr. Feith was "the fucking stupidest guy on the face of the earth." The Times regrets the error.

Oh that's hilarious! LOL!

Pentagon report said to find killing of Iraqi civilians deliberate
Topic: War on Terrorism 7:27 pm EDT, May 19, 2006

The uncle of one survivor, a 13-year-old girl, told Knight Ridder that the girl had watched the Marines open fire on her family and that she had held her 5-year-old brother in her arms as he died. The girl shook visibly as her uncle relayed her account, too traumatized to recount what happened herself.

It's time to go.

Ex-WMD Inspector: Politics Quashed Facts - Yahoo! News
Topic: War on Terrorism 5:35 pm EDT, May 16, 2006

Returning to Baghdad in late 2003 to join the CIA-commissioned Iraq Survey Group in a senior role, Barton found that specialists had dismissed the "biotrailer" suspicions. Strong evidence showed the units were instead designed to make hydrogen for weather balloons, as Iraqis claimed.

David Kay, then chief inspector, has since said that in December 2003 George J. Tenet, then CIA director, wouldn't accept this finding.

That February, Tenet claimed in a Washington speech that the trailers could be used to make bioweapons.

Barton says he, too, ran into roadblocks in early 2004 when he sought to include the trailer analysis in a report.

Barton quotes the American head of the biological team, whom Barton doesn't name, as telling him, "You don't understand how difficult it is to say anything different" from the public CIA line.

Remember the flap about the Washington Post saying that they knew the trailers weren't weapons labs before Bush said they were? It turns out they had that information surpressed so they could keep saying it.

Can both the President and Vice-President be impeached simultaneously?

Phone Records used to stop ABC News
Topic: War on Terrorism 2:54 pm EDT, May 15, 2006

ABC News does not know how the government determined who we are calling, or whether our phone records were provided to the government as part of the recently-disclosed NSA collection of domestic phone calls.

Other sources have told us that phone calls and contacts by reporters for ABC News, along with the New York Times and the Washington Post, are being examined as part of a widespread CIA leak investigation.

Well we now know one thing they're doing with the records. It's not basic pattern stuff, this is targeted to stop the press.

NSA has massive database of Americans' phone calls - Yahoo! News
Topic: War on Terrorism 3:07 pm EDT, May 11, 2006

As a result, domestic call records - those of calls that originate and terminate within U.S. borders - were believed to be private.

Sources, however, say that is not the case. With access to records of billions of domestic calls, the NSA has gained a secret window into the communications habits of millions of Americans. Customers' names, street addresses and other personal information are not being handed over as part of NSA's domestic program, the sources said. But the phone numbers the NSA collects can easily be cross-checked with other databases to obtain that information.

So they're actually spying on EVERYONE. I don't have words to descibe this, and the nicest name that comes to mind is Joe Stalin. Enough.

Moussaoui Asks to Withdraw Guilty Plea - Yahoo! News
Topic: War on Terrorism 7:12 pm EDT, May  8, 2006

"I had thought I would be sentenced to death based on the emotions and anger toward me for the deaths on Sept. 11, but after reviewing the jury verdict and reading how the jurors set aside their emotions and disgust for me and focused on the law and the evidence ... I now see that it is possible that I can receive a fair trial even with Americans as jurors."

Okay Zac, first, you're a moron. The government case was so flimsy that if you'd just shut the hell up, you might have gotten out of everything dealing with 9/11. You'd still probably be doing 20 for being a malignant wart on the ass of humanity, but your involvement in that specific incident seems to amount to about zero.

Second, it's too late now. You yapped, said you did it and dared them to send you to old sparky and they declined. No virgins for you.

Army Enlists Autistic
Topic: War on Terrorism 4:20 pm EDT, May  8, 2006

"When Jared first started talking about joining the Army, I thought, 'Well, that isn't going to happen,' " said Paul Guinther, Jared's father. "I told my wife not to worry about it. They're not going to take anybody in the service who's autistic."

But they did. Last month, Jared came home with papers showing that he not only had enlisted, but also had signed up for the Army's most dangerous job: cavalry scout. He is scheduled to leave for basic training Aug. 16.

Officials are now investigating whether recruiters at the U.S. Army Recruiting Station in Southeast Portland improperly concealed Jared's disability, which should have made him ineligible for service.

This has gone beyond ridiculous. They're using "No Child Left Behind" to get their lists and going after anyone they can. The guy who did this apparantly showed up at the family's door to get them to kill the story or he could lose his job and maybe a dishonorable discharge. Boo hoo.

The Fix-It Man Leaves, but The Agency's Cracks Remain

One senior European counterterrorism official, asked recently for his assessment of Goss's leadership, responded by saying, "Who?"

Any other questions about how Porter was doing his job?
