What will a Hillary Clinton presidency look like? ... flailing, and furtive, and disingenuous ...
Precisely. She plays dirty and I can't stand how many supposedly progressive democrats support her on the basis that we need a "fighter" to counter the dirty shit the republicans will throw at us. So much for fucking ideals. Carl Bernstein’s View: A Hillary Clinton presidency |

] WASHINGTON - Sen. John Edwards and Vice President Cheney clashed ] repeatedly in their debate last night, making impressive-sounding ] but misleading statements on issues including the war in Iraq, ] tax cuts and each other's records, often omitting key facts along ] the way. Here are my own thoughts, after watching the debate live. ... Also, there was one time that Cheney said something that was incorrect, which was when he said he'd never met Edwards before. [ Well, actually, there were a number of times Cheney said things that were either misleading or patently false. Edwards too. Wether ones misleadings were worse than the others is a matter each person must decide for themselves, but they're there. You're correct that Cheney's much better able to make his lies sound like well reasoned truth, however. He's a professional, and he's been around a while... he doesn't get worked up and he's got a solid command of the "facts" he wants to put forth. Annenberg's FactCheck.org Points them out http://www.factcheck.org/article.aspx?docID=272 I think Edwards' errors are both less frequent and less egregious than Cheney's. -k] The VP Debate |

Trying to confuse the democrats? Change in voting location |

I've always voted about a block from my house, along with my husband. This year, I've just been informed that I was moved to a new location. I have no idea where it is! My husband, however, who lives in the same house as I do, is getting to vote at his old location. WTH is with that? The only thing that has changed...is that THIS year...I'm a registered democrat. He's independant. WTH is with keeping all the democrats voting in one place? [ That is odd. My polling place has changed 3 times since living here (4 years) but I have no way to correlate based on registration. I thought the precinct polling places were based solely on address. -k] Trying to confuse the democrats? Change in voting location |

[ Anyone know if the debates are going to have live webcast coverage support? I have friends living overseas who, obviously, aren't gonna get CBS, etc. but want to watch. Anyway, thought i'd see if any of this crew had the 411. -k] |

I like this article because it seems to have a more balanced view of what's known about the situation, and because it seems to be written from a military perspective rather than a political one. [ Good find. This is very even handed and complete. Everyone's so caught up in CBS' massive gaffe, that the underlying facts are still unclear. That he was honorably discharged is not in question. What's in question is the gaps in service records if that's the case. Anyway, this is the fairest, most unbiased and unsensational account you're likely to find on the subject. -k] Air Force Times: Bush and the Guard |

] The truth is, Undecideds, you're getting on our nerves. ] We Decideds hate all the attention you're getting and ] that you're jerking us around.
