"Storydata.com is a data analysis portal. In many cases, the news of the day is based on one or two statistics gleaned from a complex institutional database. Just as hypertext allows anyone with Internet access to link to source documents that shape current events, Storydata.com allows anyone with Internet access not just to link to, but get more insight out of the data that affects our world." Note that this site is a working advert for software firm Databeacon. However, the data are well presented and definitely worth a look. Requires a Java-capable browser.
