Cisco and Ericsson presented these 32 slides from the BOF on the Host Identity Protocol (HIP) at the 58th IETF meeting in Minneapolis.

HIP is described as being a combination of naming, location ID, mobility, security, and multi-homing.

One slide goes so far as to call HIP "the new waist of TCP/IP."
