 ] Sally Weisbrot's bus the night of Nov. 30.
 ]

 ] sister in Mount Laurel, Weisbrot, a 30-year-old New
 ] Yorker, watched from her second-row seat with mounting
 ] dismay as the Greyhound driver, trying to find a
 ] less-congested route north, made one bad move after
 ] another.
 ]
 ] His biggest mistake came while the bus was mired in
 ] traffic on Route 9. After exasperated passengers asked if
 ] he knew where he was going, the driver got on the public
 ] address system and made a remark he would soon regret.
 ]
 ] "I'm taking you to the Taliban," Weisbrot heard him say.
 ] "Don't worry about it."
 ]
 ] It was a bad, nonsensical joke, everyone agrees now. But
 ] with the specter of war with Iraq looming and Osama bin
 ] Laden still at large, America is hardly in a lighthearted
 ] mood."
 I don't know, I'm an American and I'm in a lighthearted mood because I thought this whole thing was pretty funny... Highway to Hell |
