Fish Oil Eases Depression
Topic: Health and Wellness 3:54 pm EDT, Jun 21, 2006

Oct. 18, 2002 -- It may sound fishy, but researchers say taking a daily fish-oil supplement may boost the effectiveness -- or even replace -- antidepressants for treating depression in some people.

In a new study, people who added a daily dose of omega-3 fatty acids to their regular antidepressant treatment had significant improvement in symptoms, including anxiety, sleeping problems, sadness, decreased sexual desire, and suicidal tendencies.

Although there are many effective treatments for depression, most only work in a limited number of patients or have significant side effects that prompt users to stop taking them. That's inspired researchers to look for new ways to treat the mental illness or increase the effectiveness of existing treatments.

1 gram works, 2 doesn't, 4 works great? Clearly some randomness in there, so this isn't confirmed, but still interesting.

Using After Effects and Flash

When does After Effects save out vector objects?

There are four cases where AE saves out elements as vector objects:

1) Solid layers with Masks
2) Illustrator files (without gradients)
3) The Path Text plug-in
4) The Audio Spectrum and Waveform filters

Tips on generating Flash from After Effects, for all your technical animation for the web needs.

In Sides by Orbital on Rhapsody
Topic: Arts 4:07 am EDT, Jun 21, 2006

The song, 'Halcyon and On and On' is a favorite of mine, even if I'm not that into Orbital. This album, In Sides, has a 1996 live version that sounds very much like the live version that rocked my numskull in 1996? 97? at the Masquerade in Atlanta, with Bon Jovi popping in out of nowhere and then through a few pop songs before back to Halcyon. Nice.

OIGA 12TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND TRADESHOW
“The Biggest Little Show In Indian Gaming”
August 6, 7, & 8, 2006

Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association proudly announces the 12th Annual Conference and Tradeshow, which will be held August 6, 7, and 8, 2006, in Oklahoma City. This year’s conference will be held at the Renaissance Oklahoma City and the Tradeshow will be held at the Cox Convention Center. “Once a Dream, Now a Reality”, is this year’s theme as Oklahoma Tribes enjoy their first full year under the Oklahoma Compact permitting Table Games. OIGA encourages all tribal gaming operators, tribal gaming employees, tribal leaders, and vendors to attend this event.

The first OIGA Conference and Tradeshow in 1994 had 12 vendor booths and 100 attendees. In 2005 OIGA had 120 vendor booths over 1,700 participants attending. Vendors wanting to showcase their products to Class II and Class III gaming operations know this is the show you don’t want to miss. The Conference features informative seminars for tribal operators, tribal employees, and tribal leaders. Bringing National Speakers to Oklahoma so that tribal operators can have their employees attend is what OIGA is all about.

This is where Lucision will launch its eMpower Lite 1.0 global reporting system for casinos.

* Retrieving readings from the ambient light sensor
* Retrieving and setting the LED brightness value of the backlit keyboard
* Initiating an LED fade to a target brightness value over a specified duration
* Retrieving and setting a display's brightness

This guy is cool, but he doesn't allow any redistribution of his code without permission.
