If, however, the currency is more seriously damaged or mutilated, it must be sent to the BEP for examination and identification after which the claimant will be reimbursed for its face value by a U.S. Treasury check. The standards by which mutilated currency can be exchanged at face value are: (1) at least 51% of a currency note is present and identifiable; or (2) 50% or less of a currency note is present and the submitted evidence justifies the method of mutilation and the U.S. Treasury is satisfied that all missing portions of the currency note have been totally destroyed.

'My concern is that they have learnt to shoot at divers in wetsuits who have simulated terrorists in exercises. If divers or windsurfers are mistaken for a spy or suicide bomber and if equipped with special harnesses carrying toxic darts, they could fire,' he said. 'The darts are designed to put the target to sleep so they can be interrogated later, but what happens if the victim is not found for hours?'

One percent of adults ages 20 to 64 now take the drugs, according to Medco, which administers pharmaceutical benefits for managed care companies. "I think this shows a clear recognition and new thinking that treatment for A.D.H.D. does not go away for many children after adolescence," said Dr. Robert S. Epstein, the company's chief medical officer.

Caution: Risk of Personal Injury Standard warning symbols often ignore or overlook the complexity of human actions, and the complexity of the injuries, both physical and psychological, that can arise from these actions. To protect others from complex injuries, I designed the Personal Injury Warning System in 1994, and adapted it for the web in 1998. Each symbol is based on an injury I have received, and indexed by the date that I would have benefitted from such a warning.

With OmniGraffle, it's as easy as dragging and dropping to create flow charts, org charts, network diagrams, family trees, project processes, office layouts - anything you can think of that can be represented by symbols and lines. OmniGraffle knows what makes a diagram different from a drawing, so it knows how to help you make superior documents quickly: it keeps lines connected to shapes even when they're moved, it provides palettes full of objects for you to drag and drop, and it can magically organize diagrams with just one click.
This is the best diagramming software on Planet Earth. It boots Visio in the pants. The Omni Group - Applications - OmniGraffle |

Here's one of many examples: The Chicago Tribune reports that the U.S.S. Bataan, equipped with six operating rooms, hundreds of hospital beds and the ability to produce 100,000 gallons of fresh water a day, has been sitting off the Gulf Coast since last Monday - without patients.

Nagios is a host and service monitor designed to inform you of network problems before your clients, end-users or managers do. It has been designed to run under the Linux operating system, but works fine under most *NIX variants as well. The monitoring daemon runs intermittent checks on hosts and services you specify using external "plugins" which return status information to Nagios. When problems are encountered, the daemon can send notifications out to administrative contacts in a variety of different ways (email, instant message, SMS, etc.). Current status information, historical logs, and reports can all be accessed via a web browser.
Nagios is like those expensive visual SNMP monitors... but its free. Nagios |
