"Study doubts the effectiveness of antidepressant drugs." Or, even better, as per The Independent: "Antidepressant drugs don't work-- official study." I don't know what passes for official nowadays. The data is the exact same data that has existed for 30 years. Yes, these authors are acting like they FOIA-ed the second Zapruder film, but let me assure you it's the same old data. These authors did the exact same study in 2002. So have twenty other groups. This is not new. But it is news. The question is why.

THE PROBLEM ISN'T THE STUDY WAS PUBLISHED, THE PROBLEM IS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED 10 YEARS AGO. It's the exact same data they had 10 years ago, the exact same data. This isn't a discovery, this isn't Woodward and Bernstein, this is a bunch of academics who are no longer on Pharma payrolls who have now decided that they have nothing further to gain from pushing antidepressants. Now they can pretend to be on the side of science. We reviewed the data, and found some of it was not published. You knew that already. You were the ones who didn't publish it-- it's your journal. Turner worked for 3 years as an NIH reviewer. He just notices this now? Is no one wondering how it is that this study comes out now, when all antidepressants but two are generic?

The Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada is a high-volume gastrointestinal practice where colonoscopies are frequently performed. Reuse of syringes and vials at the facility was a "common practice" undertaken by everyone from doctors to technicians, health officials said. The business was investigated for other unsafe practices such as not properly cleaning endoscopic equipment used in colonoscopies and upper gastrointestinal procedures.

So, I raced in the Broken Hearts and Bicycle Parts race last night and lost my partner(partner’s race) after a bad intersection and a wrong turn. So I decided to finish solo since I couldn’t reach him on his cell. I was about a 1/2 mile from the finish you have to climb a hill that isn’t too steep, its just fairly long. The traffic in the direction I was heading there were like three lanes. I was in the far left lane (holding my lane) when this Lexus comes up behind me and starts honking. I then began to signal that I was about to turn left and the Lexus gets impatient and tries to pass me. So I almost freaked out because they nearly hit me. So as I turn my head to watch out for the car, I threw up all over the hood and windshield. It was great. I actually was laughing and puking at the same time!! I booked the hell out of there and onto a side street. But it was really worth it. I don’t know why I puked. I think I may of just pushed myself too hard and had too many beers before the race. It was great though.
Gahahaha! Atlanta is the worst bicycle city in America, and one Lexus got a pukey piece of revenge last week. :D James Dean’s story from Broken Hearts | Stupid Hurts....trust me I know! |

The Right To Travel As the Supreme Court notes in Saenz v Roe, 98-97 (1999), the Constitution does not contain the word "travel" in any context, let alone an explicit right to travel (except for members of Congress, who are guaranteed the right to travel to and from Congress). The presumed right to travel, however, is firmly established in U.S. law and precedent. In U.S. v Guest, 383 U.S. 745 (1966), the Court noted, "It is a right that has been firmly established and repeatedly recognized." In fact, in Shapiro v Thompson, 394 U.S. 618 (1969), Justice Stewart noted in a concurring opinion that "it is a right broadly assertable against private interference as well as governmental action. Like the right of association, ... it is a virtually unconditional personal right, guaranteed by the Constitution to us all." It is interesting to note that the Articles of Confederation had an explicit right to travel; it is now thought that the right is so fundamental that the Framers may have thought it unnecessary to include it in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Thanks to Marko Liias for the idea. Thanks to W.H. van Atteveldt for the note about Congressional travel.

Surfers need abdominal and core strength Nothing gets you in shape for surfing quite as well as actual surfing, but adding these core and balance exercises to your training routine will make your next surfing trip a lot more enjoyable and decrease your risk of injury. The muscles of your core are essential to developing power and stability – two key factors for proper surfing technique. A strong core helps you surf with more power, for longer periods with less fatigue. If your typical core workout consists of crunches or sit-ups, you will find that adding exercises for the chest, shoulders, back, hips and gluts will improve your surfing quickly. Add the following circuit to your routine about 4-6 weeks prior to your surf trip. They should be done one after the other in a circuit fashion, with at most, thirty seconds rest between exercises

Surfing is a very unique sport, in that there are many different elements to deal with; a surfboard, constant changes of the ocean, other surfers, sea pest, and the sun. Basically it is a very hectic sport. You always have to be on top of it or you are going to get hurt or to the extreme you can lose your life. Now I have your attention, lets talk specificity of training and surfing. When training for specificity, you want to perform exercises that will mimic what you do in the water. No I don't want you to flail around like a kook at the gym. Your exercises should be as close to what a surfing maneuver looks like, be it a cut back or a simple paddle. Obviously we cannot duplicate all of the surfing maneuvers out there, but we can try our best. If it looks like surfing, and smells like surfing, you are the right track, it should help your surfing.
