Currently, GSA has several primary communication protocols with standardized computer languages: System-to-System (S2S), Gaming Peripheral Standard (GPS), Best of Breed (BOB), and IGT's SAS protocol. The S2S standard provides casino operators with a "full view" of their gaming operations and patron activities in real time, says GSA. It links all the various casino databases, such as slot-accounting systems, table tracking and rating systems, and player-tracking systems for slots (a reward method for loyal players), as well as hospitality and point-of-sale systems for casinos that also operate hotels.
