1) Diamox. 500mg a day. Beware, even at sea level you have to drink alot of water or this can dehydrate you, which will ruin you at altitude. Get this from your doctor. Start this the day before you fly to high altitude. 2) Ginkgo Biloba. This stuff makes me feel better too. I take 160mg twice a day. Some studies indicate that 60mg twice a day is effective, but why stop there? Start two days before you fly. 3) Force a gallon of water down your gullet a day. AMS reduces thirst, and so does Diamox. When you have to pee, before you go, drink another glass of water. This is key. I think. When you wake up, drink water. Before you go to sleep, drink water. Put a glass of water bedside for late night drinkage. Drink 2 glasses before each meal. Oh, and you should eat. Altitude kills your appetite. 4) Toradol. When the headaches come, this stuff woops their ass. Then again, so might Tylenol, without the risk of internal bleeding. 5) Coffee. I'm tired, so I drink a ton of caffiene. This may irritate the AMS. But I needs my energy. This works at 10,000 feet, for me. I am not a doctor, but I like to think I could have been, so I play one in my head.
