The Apple iPhone 4S Release date rumors seem to have taken away much of the hope from the tech savvy consumers who have waited a while for an update on the Apple iPhone 5 release date. New information suggests the next Apple handheld will be the 4S. The iPhone 5 release date might not happen this year, meaning people will have to wait longer than anticipated for a 5th generation iPhone. Since the yet-to-be confirmed iPhone 4s will be part of the 4th generation family, a lot of Apple fans who were expecting a 5th generation device with the iPhone 5 release date might be a bit dismayed. Then again, most fans will probably be just as excited to have the iPhone 4S when it is released. After all, any new device from Apple is sure to cause customers to flock to their nearest Apple store, wait in line for five hours, and pay $300–all to have the iPhone 5 release announcement come two months later. What are your thoughts on the iPhone 4S release? Will you buy a 4th generation iPhone, or wait it out for the iPhone 5? Apple iPhone 4S Release Date to Come – What About the iPhone 5? |

New leaks suggest that Apple’s fifth generation iPhone or iPhone 5 will be positioning the flash and camera lens further apart than they are in the current version. According to Apple.pro, a website that has posted numerous Apple-related hardware leaks in the past, including the tiny touchscreen that last year became the centerpiece of the new iPod Nano, the rear camera of iPhone 5 may not have the accompanying LED flash to its right, as does iPhone 4. Incidentally, Gadgets DNA (via MacRumors) also reported that a certain Guangdong, China-based Kulcase is listing an alleged “Newest design crystal case for Apple iPhone 5g” on the company’s Alibaba.com site. The case suggests that iPhone 5 will have its rear camera flash moved to the opposite corner from the camera. iPhone 5 Leak – Flash And Camera Will Be Separated |

Facebook users have been plagued with links that claim to have exclusive shots of a new “iPhone 5”. While it is unclear who is posting these links, it is evident that they are spam. It may show up as a link to a post on a Facebook user’s profile page. When clicked, it opens up a new page and loads a window to fill in, to check that the person isn’t a robot. As soon as the CAPTCHA is completed, a copy of the original message will be posted on your wall telling all of your friends and connections that you commented on something. When your friends click it, the process repeats until the message is generated to the masses. After the user fills in the CAPTCHA, this leads to a survey which, when completed, the spammer gets paid for. It’s all a very sneaky process, gripping those who are lured in by the link. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened though. There have been many false links related to the iPhone 4, and any topic that is popular in the news. For example, after the killing of Osama Bin Laden, links that claimed to have pics of Osama sprang up on Facebook pages everywhere. Facebook recommends that users not click the links, even if it appears it is from someone they may know. iPhone 5 ‘First Exposure’ Facebook Scam Makes it’s Debut, not an iPhone 5 |

"iPhone 4S" May Launch in September & Be an Apple FAIL |

First Apple tries to pull the "mythical" white iPhone shenanigan, wherein they attempted to dupe us into buying something that already exists. Now, rumor has it that the actual next generation iPhone will also be ... pretty much something that already exists! The nerve! Jeffries & Co. analyst Peter Misek issued a research note to clients today, in which he claims the next iPhone 5 will be called the 'iPhone 4S' and will debut in September, per industry expectations. But unlike "geek-pectations," it doesn't sound like the new iPhone's features will really deviate significantly from the current iPhone 4. Instead, it'll just have "minor cosmetic changes, better cameras, A5 dual-core processor, and HSPA+ support." Oh, sure, Apple's gonna let late-to-the-party carriers T-Mobile and Sprint in on the action by the end of 2011, so that's good news for some folks, but otherwise, the "update" sounds terribly ... LAME! Seems that Apple knows it, too, and plans to just lean on the new iOS (operating system) as a key selling point for customers. Meh, when it comes to buying a new smartphone, most people are more interested in fancy, new hardware. And if you can just get that iOS update on your existing iPhone 4, why would you bother with the 4S? Sure, the new A5 processor is pretty sweet, but without 4G speeds, it won't be a worthwhile update, according to my friend who is a tech expert and serious early adopter. Network speeds are becoming increasingly important, and I wouldn't be surprised if consumers look elsewhere for that 4G. Cuz they can find it in lots of other smartphones. Of course, the complaint with the existing 4G smartphones is that they can't hold a charge to save their neat gadget lives. The speedy network sucks up tons of juice. And that's probably why Apple is having trouble incorporating the technology into their new model, but yo, figure it out, Jobs! If any company could solve an industry-wise problem, it would be Apple. Well, maybe not anymore! Seriously, I am pissed. Where is my iPhone 5? A proud owner of an iPhone 3GS for almost 2 years, I've waited patiently for Apple to work out the bugs in the iPhone 4 and come out with something revolutionary this year. And it seems like all we faithful Apple customers are going to get is a slightly revamped iPhone 4 with a perfunctory letter tacked onto its name. Boo. Hiss! If these iPhone 4S rumors are true, I bet the iEmpire will take a fall from many a technophiles' grace. What do you think about the rumored iPhone 4S? Would you buy it with these minor changes? Apple‘s iPhone 5 launch in September isn’t likely to include LTE functionality, Jefferies & Co. analyst Peter Misek asserts in a research note. “According to our industry checks, the device should be called iPhone 4S and include minor cosmetic changes, better cameras, A5 dual-core processor, and HSPA+ support,” he writes in a research note. But he also says that “industry checks indicate Apple will likely announce Sprint, T-Mobile, and China Mobile as new carriers.” As for LTE, he says the Qualcomm LTE chipset Apple would have used “is currently not achieving yields sufficient for inclusion in the iPhone 5.” He says Apple had hoped to have the LTE chipsets ready, but was planning a version without LTE called iPhone 4S. Apple iPhone & iPad 2 to Face Low Supply: iPhone 5 Delay Reason? |

If you’re in the market for an Apple iPhone 5 or iPad 2 tablet then you may be best to purchase one sooner rather than later as there are reports today that they may be harder to get hold of soon. It seems that there are concerns about shortages of both materials and labor that could affect future shipments. We recently told about developments for a future Foxconn manufacturing plant in Brazil but that won’t solve the immediate problems that Foxconn in China and thus Apple are facing at present. Sam Oliver of Apple Insider informs us of a report from Taiwanese newspaper Digitimes, often a source of Apple news and speculation, which reports that component maker sources have informed the paper about these issues. If the sources are correct it’s expected that supplies of the iPhone 4 and iPad 2 will be affected for the second quarter. Component shortages have to some extent been caused by the devastating earthquake in Japan and it’s suggested that those shortages along with problems getting enough labor means that Foxconn is not keeping up with production targets. For example it’s reported that demand for Apple’s iPad 2 means that 2.5 to 3 million units per month are required. Foxconn has not released a statement about this situation yet but has said the company is doing all it can to keep up with client needs. Meanwhile Christian Zibreg of 9to5Mac also reports on the news from Digitimes and points out that Digitimes has a pretty mixed record for supplying accurate information. However Zibreg suggests that if the reports are accurate, the supply problems could be one of the reasons why Apple has reportedly pushed back an iPhone 5 release until later this year, which certainly gives food for thought. What are your thoughts on component and labor shortages for the Apple iPhone and iPad and whether this may indeed be the cause for the delay of the iPhone 5? Let us know with your comments. Japanese Electronics giant Sharp is preparing to launch a smartphone that has a lot in common with the HTC EVO 3D (or the HTC Sensation) according to an online news report. According to Engadget, the handset will be called the Aquos Phone SH-12C; it takes on the HTC EVO 3D & the Sensation, the Optimus 2X as well as the Samsung Galaxy S II with some cracking hardware, even though it only has a single core SoC. The smartphone has the fastest CPU on any smartphone, the Qualcomm MSM8255 which is a single core part clocked at 1.4GHz with an Adreno 205 GPU (ed : possibly the MSM8255T).Then there’s a qHD (540×960) capacitive 4.2-inch touchscreen which is 3D capable. The screen uses the same technology as that on the Nintendo 3DS gaming console (built by Sharp as well). In addition, there are two 8 megapixel cameras at the back which can record 3D content in HD quality and use Sharp’s proprietary Propix technology which automatically selects the shooting mode and the focus to match the view. The samartphone will be out on the 20th of May, either in black or white, and will run on the Japanese network DoCoMo. Sharp has yet to say how much it will cost or whether it will ship one day outside Japan. New iPhone 5 Sharp VS iPhone 5 – Rival 3D Smartphone |

Apple's iPhone 5 may have been delayed till end of the year. That would be in keeping with speculation that the device’s release has been pushed back. Apple may indeed delay the next iPhone 5 until later in 2011 or beyond, according to a new report. That would mean a radical adjustment from the company’s usual habit of releasing the latest version of its smartphone every summer. MacRumors posted May 4 about an unnamed reader who “received word from an AT&T customer care representative” that the next iPhone 5 won’t be released in the next few months. “Company has informed us that they do not plan to release the iPhone 5 in the June to July ” the blog quotes the AT&T agent as telling its source, “there will be a newer version of iPhone, but so far there have not been given any future release dates.” The Loop’s Jim Dalrymple suggested in March that Apple would delay the device until late in 2011. “Apple’s apparent focus on software in its WDC announcement backs up what my own sources are saying about the actual conference,” he wrote in a March 28 posting. “This is, expect a software show in 2011, not a hardware event.” Some other sources have suggested to the blog TechCrunch that the actual release of iOS 5, the next type of Apple’s mobile software, could also be delayed until fall. Combined with an iPhone 5 launch in that period, it would represent a significant departure from the company’s previous release date. Current rumors suggest the new iPhone 5 will feature higher-resolution cameras, Apple’s A5 proprietary processor, hardware upgraded to enable 3G FaceTime video conferencing, and NFC (near-field communication) technology that would enable the smartphone to act as an electronic wallet. In combination, those features could allow Apple to combat the growing (and increasingly sophisticated) family of Google Android devices. New iPhone 5 |
