With a slew of Android phones set to hit market, why is Apple apparently passing up WWDC platform to announce iPhone 5? Also why is it not dealing a sucker punch to Android by announcing superior features iPhone fans have been waiting for? Android smartphones and tablets are going to flood the US market soon. There is a new launch, leak or rumor every day. It looks like about ten new Android devices are going to hit deck this summer trough various networks. And there is rumoured launch of many more over the next several weeks. Yet, as rumor has it, Apple is blasting past the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) without saying anything about the iPhone 5 - nothing about features and specifics, and nothing about the possible release date. Is it a strategic move, sales-wise or otherwise, or is the consumer giant just smugly passing up a big opportunity and letting Android devices wean away more users from Apple’s stables? There is already the allegation that most of the rumored iPhone 5 features are already on Android OS-based devices. iPhone fans could catch up with their Android rival in time if apple were to release its next generation iPhone, whether it is called iPhone 4S or iPhone 5. But is there any confirmation regarding either the specs or release date? At the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco on Monday, Apple CEO Steve Jobs will unveil the Mac OS 10.7, codenamed 'Lion', and the iOS 5. But there is going to be no announcement regarding when the next generation iPhone will be launched. Gadget market is seeking answers for speculation over iPhone 5 features and specifics and its release date. Tech analysts have split hairs and burnt up midnight's oil groping for answers, but there is none on the horizon. According to most analysts iPhone 5 will not be launched at WWDC next week, which will be a break from tradition for Apple. It would be had to imagine a WWDC getting over without a major product launch, but it looks like a certainty. A quick cut to the Android camp: A slew of Android devices slated to hit market are 4G-enabled, NFC capable, with some having ultra-high resolution cameras. T-Mobile is blazing the summer Android launch trail by announcing the HTC Sensation 4G, Samsung Gravity Smart and Samsung Exhibit 4G in quick succession. while HTC Sensation 4G will be released on June 15, the other two hand sets will also come sometime this month. Sprint has lined up three handsets, HTC Evo 3D, the Motorola XPRT, and the Motorola Titanium. While the XPRT will arrive on June 5, the other two are likely to come in the near future. AT&T was up to speed by the announcement of Android-based Pantech phone Crossover. To be available on June 5, it will come at $69.99 with a two-year agreement. Though Verizon appears not to have any earthshaking smart phone announcement to make, it has showcased 4G LTE version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. So that's how the Android onslaught is taking shape this summer. And what is Apple doing about it? Just the same ominous silence even as more frustrated users dump iPhones for rival android-based on phones? The Apple fans' frustration over the lack of information about iPhone 5, its release date, features and specifics is taking a toll on the company. Users are waiting to know if "iOS 5 or the iPhone 5 will have what it takes to beat the powerful features that most Android phones have?" says nextiphonenews. And that's a legitimate worry. And many are fleeing the Apple camp to join ranks with the growing Android army. If rumors are to be believed, the next generation Apple iPhone will have a SIM-less design, an 8 mega pixel camera and an ARM Cortex-A9 processor. But it's uncertainty over its launch that is taking a toll on fans as well as the tech giant itself. The next generation Apple iPhone will have "3-4 internal antennas that will allow the device to serve as a "world phone" compatible with both GSM and CDMA networks," as AppleInsider puts it. It will also have a Qualcomm chipset. Overall, the modifications on the previous model will not be large scale, and the iPhone will retain the form factor of iPhone 4. According to the report, it can’t be confirmed if the latest iPhone will have single CPU or dual CPUs. Heavily rumoured iOS 5 features have added to the mirth. Software improvements in the iOS 5 and iCloud will be the defining characteristics of Apple iPhone 5, not any hardware feature, according to analysts. And as per consensus CEO Jobs will showcase the features of the iOS 5 at the developer conference. Apple is set to unleash the massive computing power stored up in its brand new data center in Maiden, North Carolina to make the next generation iPhone a drastically new experience for consumers. The updated iOS 5 will present a thoroughly revamped software platform for the iPhone, while Apple's iCloud service will give users access to data and services directly streamed from the Apple servers. And the iPhone 5's release date was supposed to be round the corner, probably by end of July or early August! But later on it has been reported that the launch could be delayed for another two months. Why is Apple dithering? If the iPhone 5 is going to arrive only next spring, wouldn’t that be too long a time for Android phones to get ahead of the game? Earlier, it was reported widely that Apple would begin production of iPhone 5 in July and that the product could hit stores in September. Before that, the date was sometime in June this year! While all this is the product of speculation based on rumors, leaks and sources, there indeed appears to be some dithering on Apple's part. Whether this delay will rather turn out as a dud move or a smart one remains to be seen. Follow Us - Twitter | Like Us - Facebook | Follow Us - Digg | Newiphone5.net
