LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Mike Tyson saved one more shocking sight for last. Beaten and battered, Tyson laid helplessly along the ropes Friday night, blood flowing down his face. The former baddest man on the planet stared ahead with a look of resignation on his face as his latest comeback -- and perhaps his tumultuous career -- collapsed with stunning suddenness. Unheralded British heavyweight Danny Williams did to Tyson what he had done to so many of his opponents in his prime, knocking him out with a savage flurry in the fourth round that may have finally exposed Tyson as a shot fighter at age 38. ... The crowd of 17,253 came to see a knockout by Tyson, and when Tyson rocked Williams with a big uppercut and some left hooks in the first two rounds it looked like they would get what they came for. But Tyson was cut in the third round, and Williams showed he was going to be the bully in this fight. He hit Tyson on the break, losing a point, then hit him low, and the referee took another point. The bully was being bullied, and Tyson couldn't stand up to it. About freakin time. Tyson KO'd in 4th |

I'd buy that (ticket) for a dollar! The controversial movie Fahrenheit 9/11 is going to George Bush's hometown - and the star of the show has been invited to attend. Texas cinemas have refused to show the documentary in the state. But a small Texas peace group has agreed to host the film. Director Michael Moore invited Mr Bush to attend, saying he wanted a chance to thank him personally for starring in the film. "And let's face it, you've got some of the funniest lines in the film!" he wrote on his website. MOORE ISSUES BUSH INVITE |

France's first gay marriage - performed last month in Bordeaux - has been officially declared void. A court sided with the Government by ruling that the June 5 wedding between a shopkeeper and a male nurse was not allowed under French law. The union of shopkeeper Bertrand Charpentier, 31, and nurse Stephane Chapin, 33, has generated intense attention in France. The local mayor who officiated at the ceremony has already been suspended from his post for a month over the matter. The couple involved have previously vowed to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights should France block the marriage. A civil contract, known as PACS, permits couples in France - including same-sex ones - to attain some of the legal rights of marriage, but not others, notably those dealing with taxes and inheritance. "Offensive" vanity tag yanked by Washington officials JULY 21--This is the story of GOTMILF. In May 2002, Michael Syravong filed the below "personalized license plate application" with Washington's Department of Licensing. GOTMILF was Syravong's first choice among the three possible personalized tags he listed on the state form (he would have settled for SUPL8EZ or RCKSTAR). Asked for the meaning of GOTMILF, Syravong wrote, "Manual Inline Lift Fluctuator," which he would later claim was some kind of automotive gizmo. The 25-year-old software engineer's license plate choice was, amazingly, approved by bureaucrats who obviously never saw the film "American Pie" and were clueless about the acronym's real meaning. In February, 21 months after Syravong got the personalized plate for his Toyota (pictured above), an aggrieved Washingtonian e-mailed a complaint to state officials. A second beef was received in April from a disgusted Snohomish parent who did not want "my children seeing this and inquiring as to what it means." No 1st Ammendment rights for vanity car tags... |

Davidson County Criminal Court Judge Cheryl Blackburn ruled the arresting officer didn't have sufficient basis to pull McNair over. She granted McNair's request to suppress all evidence relating to the reason for the May 2003 stop. ... McNair was arrested after an officer noticed him driving his sport utility vehicle in Downtown Nashville. His blood alcohol content registered at that level, almost twice the level then used to define driving under the influence. UN F*CKING BELIEVABLE! Judge Rules In Steve McNair's Case |

Auckland, NZ: A hospital said yesterday it would give fresh guidance to staff after a doctor and nurse handed a 14-year-old girl her miscarried foetus in a specimen bottle and told her to take it home. She took the 11-week foetus to her parents who stored it in the family's fridge overnight. Staff at Bishop Auckland Hospital, in County Durham, part of a trust awarded the top three-star rating on Tuesday, did not offer any explanation but later sent a midwife and an undertaker to collect it when the girl's parents complained. I can understand keeping something like an extracted tooth but a fetus? Hospital gave girl miscarried foetus to take home |

Two crew members on a domestic Aeroflot flight beat up a passenger who had complained that the flight attendants were drunk, airline spokeswoman Irina Dannenberg said. The passenger, identified only as A. Chernopup, was aboard a recent flight from Moscow to the Siberian city of Nizhnevartovsk, Dannenberg said. She said the crew belonged to another airline, Aviaenergo. Seeing that the crew were intoxicated and were not fulfilling their duties, Chernopup asked to be served by a sober and competent flight attendant, Dannenberg said. He was then beaten up by crew members. Fly The Friendly Skies! Reverse air rage on Russia flight |

Who guitarist brands Michael Moore a bully over song |

Pete Townshend, the guitarist with The Who, says the documentary film maker Michael Moore is as bad a "bully" as George Bush, the man he vilifies in Fahrenheit 9/11. Moore had wanted to use Townshend's song, "Won't Get Fooled Again", on the soundtrack to his anti-Iraq War polemic, which took record box-office receipts for a documentary when it opened in Britain at the weekend. ... When Townshend refused, Moore accused him of being in favour of the war. On the rock star's website, Townshend responds: "I greatly resent being bullied and slurred by him in interviews just because he didn't get what he wanted from me. It seems to me that this aspect of his nature is not unlike that of the powerful and wilful man at the centre of his new documentary." Townshend says his publishers originally refused the request to use the song because he was offered "well below" the norm. Harvey Weinstein, of Miramax, then interceded to explain what the movie was about and increase the offer. But Townshend says he remained unconvinced, not least because he regarded Bowling for Columbine, Moore's Oscar-winning film about American gun control, as "a bullying film". He offered to view Fahrenheit 9/11, but stressed he was 90 per cent sure his song would not be right. Townshend says he originally supported the war but changed his mind. "Like millions of others, I am less sure we did the right thing." Way to go Pete! Real documentaries don't skew the subject matter to overwhelmingly slant the filmaker's agenda. Moore is a self righteous dickhead. Who guitarist brands Michael Moore a bully over song |
