Court Rejects Appeal on Sex Toy Sales Ban
Topic: Current Events 6:53 pm EST, Feb 22, 2005

You gotta fight.. for your right... to vibrate? Seems unusual to see a pacifist supreme court.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court rejected on Tuesday a constitutional challenge to an Alabama law that makes it a crime to sell sex toys.

The high court refused to hear an appeal by a group of individuals who regularly use sexual devices and by two vendors who argued the case raised important issues about the scope of the constitutional right to sexual privacy.
The law prohibited the distribution of "any device designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs." First-time violators can face a fine of up to $10,000 and as much as one year in jail.

The law, adopted in 1998, allowed the sale of ordinary vibrators and body massagers that are not designed or marketed primarily as sexual aids. It exempted sales of sexual devices "for a bona fide medical, scientific, educational, legislative, judicial or law enforcement purpose."

The Woz speaks on the Tiger leak lawsuits

"I was shocked reading the interview. Everything fits into place that this is an unintentional oversight and the interviewed student appears to be one of the most honest people on this planet. I have to question who is most right in this case. I wish that Apple could find some way to drop the matter. In my opinion, more than appropriate punishment has already been dealt out. In this age of professional spammers and telemarketers making fortunes, we're misusing our energies to pursue these types of small time wrongdoers. I will personally donate $1,000 to the Canadian student's defense."

Muslim Martyrs Complain About Quality of Virgins in Paradise
Topic: Humor 2:28 pm EST, Feb 21, 2005

ha ha ha ha
Mecca - Muslim leaders from around the world hastily assembled today in the most holy city of Islam for an emergency meeting to discuss alarming reports that not all is well in Paradise.

"It appears that some of our young martyrs are displeased with the virgins they have received in Paradise," said Sheik Ali bin Farabi, Chairman of the influential Committee to Get Morons to Blow Themselves Up and Kill Infidels. "You see, Islam is a religion of love, and is based upon getting young people to strap sticks of dynamite to their bodies and go into malls and discos so that they may kill many, many innocent infidels. This is the will of Allah. Of course, most young Muslims these days are corrupted by the vile Western world with its indoor plumbing and Red Fusion Dr. Pepper, and so we must promise 72 virgins to any young person who fulfills the loving message of Islam by blowing up infidels."

This reporter was able to interview several martyrs in Paradise where morale levels as of late have become dangerously low. "I was robbed," said "Mohammed," a 15-year old martyr from Hebron. "Man, if I had known that all my 72 virgins were going to be Arab girls, I'd have never put on that vest filled with 12 pounds of plastique and blown myself up in that crowded daycare center. Geesh, those Arab girls have bigger mustaches than Sam Elliott's. Say what you will about the accursed Zionist chicks, but at least they're hot."

Ethics committee takes 'first step' in probe of Ford
Topic: Local Information 7:49 am EST, Feb 19, 2005

TICK TICK TICK...

The state Senate Ethics Committee issued a subpoena yesterday in its probe of state Sen. John Ford, D-Memphis, who faces complaints charging that he accepted income without disclosing it and that he lives outside his district.

The committee wants to examine Shelby County court documents that surround a Ford child-support dispute, said Ethics Committee Chairman Ron Ramsey, R-Blountville. Ford's testimony that he lives in two residences with two different families — both outside his Senate District 29 — cast doubt on whether he actually can serve in that district.
Ramsey said he hoped the court records would shed light on a more recent accusation that Ford profited from business ties with a TennCare subcontractor without reporting it on financial disclosure forms.

''Once we get those documents, we'll compare them against the conflicts of interest,'' Ramsey said. ''This is a first step, and that's where we are. You collect evidence as it's needed.''

An ethics subcommittee will examine those documents ''in a grand jury fashion,'' Ramsey said.

Feminist Rage Erectile Dysfunction Syndrome (FREDS)
Topic: Humor 3:28 pm EST, Feb 18, 2005

Dear Human Resources Director:

Recently, I gave serious consideration to filing a sexual harassment suit against a fellow employee who was talking about her husband’s erectile dysfunction in the workplace. All of her angry ranting about her husband’s lovemaking deficiencies infringes on my right to feel comfortable at all times in the workplace.
...
And, finally, in 2005, I have now suffered from ED due to a feminist’s excessive complaints about her husband’s ED. It’s kind of like trying not to imagine a giant purple elephant.

Obviously, one does not have to be a college professor to see the common theme in all of these instances of ED. Put simply; they were all induced by feminist rage. And, clearly, the six instances I have recounted call for the recognition of a new disability called Feminist Rage Erectile Dysfunction Syndrome, or FREDS.

In anticipation of your formal recognition of FREDS, I have attached an ADA disability claim, which will allow me to leave the university in order to fully recover. Just getting away from campus feminist rage should do the trick. And not having me around might even attenuate the rage of some of these angry feminists.

Surprised Customer Says Penis Pills Don't Work
Topic: Health and Wellness 7:50 pm EST, Feb 15, 2005

Who would have thought that? ? ? I am in utter shock at this news.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A New Jersey man has filed a false advertising lawsuit against a maker of herbal penis enlargement pills, alleging the medicine does not fulfill its promises, the plaintiff's lawyer said on Monday.

Two similar cases, filed last year in Colorado and Ohio, accuse manufacturers of herbal dietary supplements, VigRx and Enzyte, of falsely claiming to be able to add substantial length and girth to a man's penis.

FOOLS! I read before the lockout that player salaries accounted for an average of 75% of NHL revenues. NHL Hockey is just another seasonal business and if it can't make a profit, it will cease to be in business. Maybe this will have a slight domino effect and help reign all professional sports into line. Nahh. Doubt it.

Jackson to Call Stars in His Defense
Topic: Current Events 7:05 pm EST, Feb 14, 2005

Objection!... Relevance your honor... WTF?!?

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (Reuters) - Michael Jackson's lawyer told a court on Monday he planned to call a star-studded list of witnesses to defend the singer against child molestation charges, including basketball's Kobe Bryant, actress Elizabeth Taylor and "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno.
Lead Jackson attorney Tom Meserau recited his list of proposed witnesses as jury selection resumed in the high-profile case in which the 46-year-old pop star is accused of sexually molesting a then 13-year-old boy who lived at his Neverland Valley Ranch in central California.

Meserau's list included the boy who accuses Jackson and members of the youth's family. He also said he would call singers Nick Carter, Stevie Wonder, Barry Gibb and Diana Ross, comedian Chris Tucker, talk show hosts Larry King and Maury Povich and lifestyle guru Deepak Chopra.

State Sen. John Ford (TN) - It just gets better and better
Topic: Local Information 8:20 pm EST, Feb 12, 2005

This crap gets better all the time... How long until he's sent packing?

State Sen. John Ford may have had a conflict of interest in receiving payments from a company that contracted with TennCare's dental administrator, and two state agencies are investigating.

Managed Care Services Group, a Pennsylvania-based company that lists Ford as a general partner and paid him $237,000 over two years, was hired by Doral Dental USA as a consultant and lobbyist.

At the same time, Doral has a $5.3 million contract to process dental benefits for TennCare children and some adult enrollees with medically necessary dental needs, TennCare spokeswoman Marilyn Elam said. Doral first contracted with TennCare on Sept. 1, 2002.
