FOXNews.com - U.S. & World - U.S., Afghanistan Probe Body Burnings Report
Topic: Miscellaneous 2:00 pm EDT, Oct 20, 2005

— The U.S. military and the Afghan government said Thursday they will investigate a TV report that claimed U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan burned the bodies of two Taliban (search) fighters and taunted other Islamic militants.

and the problem with this? My only problem is that they didn't stuff their bodies full of bacon and shit down there throats first.

The results suggest that marijuana, or its derivatives, could actually be good for the brain.

Slashdot | Holding Developers Liable For Bugs
Topic: Miscellaneous 12:03 pm EDT, Oct 12, 2005

sebFlyte writes "According to a ZDNet report, Howard Schmidt, ex-White House cybersecurity advisor, thinks that developers should be held personally liable for security flaws in code they write. He doesn't seem to think that writing poor code is entirely the fault of coders though: he blames the education system. He was speaking in his capacity as CEO of a security consulting firm at Secure London 2005."

Uhm.... wtf. This might like..I dunno... get people to care a little more about writing quality code (for those few who don't)... but software is more or less the most complicated systems humans have ever built - I can't imagine writing code that is bug free - has anyone here written software that's entirely bug free - over time?

Read this whole letter - and see if you can discern what's going on here. Leaving Iraq anytime in the next 5 years will be very very bad.

FOXNews.com - Politics - White GOPer Charges Racism at Tenn. Black Caucus
Topic: Miscellaneous 1:51 pm EDT, Oct 10, 2005

Tennessee Rep. Stacy Campfield may seem an unlikely candidate for his state's black caucus (search). But the white Republican said he wants to join the group to serve a segment of his constituency better.

Lawsuit anyone? They deserve it for sure. If white people can't have a white caucus, blacks shouldn't be allowed to have a black caucus.

According to this post at Dirson's blog, Google and Sun Microsystems are to announce a new and kick-ass webtool: an Office Suite based on Sun's OpenOffice and accesible with your browser.

This will be awesome - if google does the web programming and they give you 2+ gigs of storage, this will be an office killer!

U.S. 'Iron Fist' Offensive Kills At Least 36 Iraq Militants

OMG OMG OMG. IRON FIST!?!? Has the military come to their senses.

I've been a huge critic of our military's velvet glove approach to the Iraq war. That is, be nice, don't kill people a lot, be wimpy like french people or whatever. Finally - Iron Fist? Let's hope we continue to kill in the dozens! Of course most if not all of you would tend to disagree with me, but isn't that what makes this a great country or what? :)

FOXNews.com - U.S. & World - Judge: Release Abu Ghraib Photos
Topic: Miscellaneous 8:44 am EDT, Sep 30, 2005

NEW YORK — A federal judge Thursday ordered the release of dozens more pictures of prisoners being abused at Abu Ghraib (search), rejecting government arguments that the images would provoke terrorists and incite violence against U.S. troops in Iraq.

If this is going to provoke terrorists, which anyone with a brain realizes it will since anything Abu Ghraib seems to do - then what the HELL IS WRONG WITH THE ACLU and this judge?

Why release these pictures now - can't it wait a few years till we're leaving Iraq? I don't understand where this anti-Americanism comes from - we are at war why doesn't this judge realize that? Doing this UNDERMINES the war - so if they do realize that we are at war - they are KNOWINGLY abiding the enemy.
