RENO, Nev. - A coalition of religious leaders made a moral case Tuesday for legalizing the sale and possession of up to 1 ounce of marijuana for adults in Nevada while stiffening penalties for sales to youths and driving under the influence.
Legalize. Regulate. Tax. I'm all for it. They should do that with prostitution as well. I'm all for dropping the legal age for this stuff, including alcohol, to 18 though. We let them vote at 18 as if they are adults. So either switch voting to 21 or the other stuff to 18. As it is, it's just silly. ~Heathyr and her kilt-wearing opinions Nev. religious leaders make case to legalize pot - Politics - MSNBC.com |

ATLANTA - A suburban county that sparked a public outcry when its libraries temporarily eliminated funding for Spanish-language fiction is now being asked to ban Harry Potter books from its schools.
I am so against banning books. It makes me ill every year to read all the challenged books, and the idiotic reasons why. The attempts to ban HP really amuse me, though. "Oh my god, it's fantasy! RUN RUN RUN, the devil is going to get me!" We should be so lucky. It's the sign of a small, petty and insecure mind, someone who is so uncertain in their beliefs that they have to destroy anything that might start to rock it. If your faith isn't enough, then examine yourself, don't try to impinge upon my rights to broaden my mind, entertain my spirit, and enjoy knowledge. ~Heathyr Georgia mom seeks Harry Potter ban - BOOKS - MSNBC.com |

MILFORD, N.H. - A teddy bear has been implicated in 2,500 deaths. Of trout, that is. State officials say a teddy bear dropped into a pool at a Fish and Game Department hatchery earlier this month clogged a drain. The clog blocked the flow of oxygen to the pool and suffocated the fish.

BEIJING - A drunken Chinese migrant worker jumped into a panda enclosure at the Beijing Zoo, was bitten by the bear and retaliated by chomping down on the animal’s back, state media said Wednesday.
He's later quoted as saying he hadn't heard they bite. Can you say Darwin Award waiting to happen? It's a wild animal. Yes, they're so adorable, I want to roam with them and hug them and squeeze them, and maybe even call them George, but I totally realize THEY MIGHT BITE. Even drunk I'd realize it. ~Heathyr Man bites panda in Beijing zoo - Animal Peculiarity - MSNBC.com |

LONDON - Britain celebrated its first Roald Dahl Day on Wednesday to mark the 90th birthday of the much-loved author of children's classics "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Matilda" and "James and the Giant Peach."
We need fun days like this! I'd rather celebrate Roald Dahl Day then "Administrative Support Week". Gag. ~Heathyr Britain celebrates first Roald Dahl Day - BOOKS - MSNBC.com |

Prosecutors dropped all charges Wednesday against a man who claimed an airport security guard misheard him as saying he had a bomb when he told her he was carrying a sexual device in his backpack.
Terrorism takes on penis enlargers! This should be a lesson to all of us: pack your pumps or don't carry them when traveling with your mother.
