] SALT LAKE CITY %u2014 SCO Group posted a ] larger-than-expected loss in the second quarter as ] revenue dropped and expenses mounted in its legal fight ] over claims that the Linux operating system infringes on ] the company's intellectual property. ] ] Lindon, Utah-based SCO lost $14.9 million, or $1.06 per ] share, in the three months ended April 30. That compared ] with a profit of $4.5 million, or 33 cents a share, for ] the year-earlier quarter, the company said Thursday. ] ] Revenue decreased by more than half to $10.1 million from ] $21.3 million. ] ] Analysts were expecting a loss of 33 cents per share on ] sales of $11.6 million, according to a survey by Thomson ] First Call. ] ] Shares of SCO closed at $4.89, down 55 cents, or more ] than 10%, in Thursday trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
