] It happened a year ago this week. That's when coach Barry
] Trotz and General Manager David Poile decided they were
] confident that Tomas Vokoun could be the team's No. 1
] goaltender, thus, allowing the Preds to trade No. 1
] goalie Mike Dunham to the New York Rangers for veteran
] center Rem Murray and two young defensemen, Thomas
] Kloucek and Marek Zidlicky. I disagree. I think the defining moment for the franchise was a month later when Trotz **DIDN'T** get fired. Yes, the rest of the season ended horribly, but with that winning streak in Jan and Feb, he proved that he can make magic with the team. Even if we don't make the playoffs this season (likely), the team is starting to believe that it can. That's a huge step. The Preds defining moment? |
